  • A Playful Approach to Learning

    Funded Dec 8, 2024

Your generous support of our preschool program has brought such joy and learning opportunities to our students! The moment we unpacked the new play materials, our students' faces lit up with pure excitement and wonder.

The Grab That Donut game has become a daily favorite during our small group time. It's amazing to watch students develop their pincer grasp as they carefully pick up the colorful donuts, while learning to wait their turn and celebrate their friends' successes. One of our quieter students now confidently calls out the colors as she plays, showing how engaging materials can naturally encourage language development.

The Laundry Basket Play Set has transformed our dramatic play area into a busy "laundromat" where imagination soars! Our students love sorting the clothes by colors, practicing folding (in their own special way!), and engaging in pretend play that mimics their home experiences. We hear so much rich language as they interact, saying things like "wash clothes" and "my turn fold!"

The Wooden Tree Toy Set has been perfect for our young builders. Their little hands are getting stronger as they manipulate the pieces, and we've seen such growth in their spatial awareness and problem-solving skills. Watching them work together, sharing pieces, and creating their own special forests is heartwarming.

We're excited to continue incorporating these materials into our daily learning centers, supporting our students' development through play-based learning. Your support has helped create an engaging environment where our students can explore, learn, and grow together.

Thank you for investing in our preschool program!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rosenblatt

  • ~ Garden Club Extra's ~ In Need of Seedlings!

    Funded Apr 22, 2024

Thank you for your donation of seedling to our garden club. The kids were so excited to try our strawberries, and other tasty essentials that we got to plant because of your donation. The garden tower especially was helpful in making our strawberry tower. We attempted to make a sunflower hut out of sunflowers and used the tiller to help prepare the rock hard soil for our compost. We are excited to try again this school year in order to help prepare the planting area again. From the garden club and myself, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rosenblatt

  • LC Garden Club Needs to Prepare for Spring

    Funded Mar 18, 2024

The plants that were donated were essential in the garden club getting to experience how to care for seedlings. We studies soil health and all of the items bought help us get a hands on experience of how to enrich the soil, how to compost, the science of soil nutrients and more. The students loved it! There was laugher, questions, presentations and projects we worked on, such as designing their very own garden cage to help keep critters out.

You could see the excitement and understanding of how to navigate gardens in the future.Thank you so much for making it possible! We are truly grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rosenblatt

  • Student Calming and Snack Needs

    Funded Jan 8, 2024

It's hard to think about students who are attending school to learn and develop having to be involved in some kind of emergency that keeps the students locked safely in a classroom. This project that you funded, helped make sure to keep the students who are attending my classroom each day occupied and focused on other things besides the emergency itself! As a school, we had a drill where the children were asked to sit quietly in the dark and wait for an "all clear". With their snack in hand, the children were able to sit quietly and follow the directions easily.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rosenblatt

  • Keeping Cool With Garden Club

    Funded Aug 18, 2023

The Greenhouse and new irrigation and misters are amazing! The kids love using all the important tools we acquired from this project as well! Our previous hose has holes in it so getting a new hose was perfect and much needed! I think the students love watering more than they do gardening. I can't blame them, it is a lot of fun! Ultimately, gardens and children need the same things - patience, love, and someone who will never give up on them. I can't thank our donors enough! You are all so important to our school! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!”

  • Dramatic Play: A Important Aspect of Early Childhood Development

    Funded Apr 3, 2023

Thank you so much for making such a colossal impact on my classroom this year! The whole school has come through to see our new classroom and the reviews a off the charts! Every child who walks through the class, in preschool through 6th grade says they now feel like they are in a children's museum. The detail in each of these toys are beautiful! More importantly, my students are talking more, are more engaged, and are generally developing their skills with more play opportunities in the classroom than ever before! Thanks you! So very much!!!”

  • STEM Found Within Our Garden

    Funded Apr 26, 2023

Thank you so much for funding this important project! This children have already put together the garden hose keeper! They have been using each and every tool they received in this project as well! We have been studying the soil testing kit and meter so that we can use them at the upcoming garden club meeting! The children in the garden club get to say they have state of the art garden technology that they use in their garden! I don't know a lot of students who can claim they are keeping up with the times! It is only because of donors like you that they get to say such things! Thank you!”

  • A Beautiful Garden Fence for All Our Young Gardeners!

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

I can't begin to describe the impact this project has made. Now when the students are engaged in the garden, you see them focused, attending and not distracted by any outside stimuli. It also makes the garden look amazing! Most importantly, there is a safe space defined for the students to know where they can learn in our outdoor classroom and where they need to stay away from for safety reasons. I can't wait to observe the learning that will take place! Thanks you! 1 million times over, thank you!”

  • Early Literacy

    Funded Nov 18, 2022

My students LOVE the listening center and the accompanying books with audio! After reading the Sing-Along Read-Along Classics with CDs many times, I have noticed an immediate spark of interest in reading more books within the classroom environment! It's working already! Thank you for making an impact on my students literacy development!

Before children can learn to read and write, they need to develop the building blocks for literacy – the ability to speak, listen, understand, watch and draw. This listening center provides all of these opportunities for my students. What they are learning is that books can give both pleasure and information. Books help them learn the sounds of letters in spoken language. This listening center in particular helps my students understand that stories aren't coming from the adult reading it, but from the words on the page – this teaches them about how the printed word works. Of course hearing books being read helps them develop a larger vocabulary – books might use new or unfamiliar words. What I love about reading with my students is that the books can get children thinking and talking about a new concept, an event or something that interests them and helps them learn about the wider community, society and the world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rosenblatt

My students are very young children with special needs, most of whom have speech delays or autism. They are the most lovable bunch of sweet hearts trying their best to communicate their thoughts and ideas. I strive to provide a social skills based preschool program that is saturated with language opportunities whenever and wherever possible. Through the use of play and modeling appropriate language, encouraging children to use their words, and practicing social skills, the children in my class can learn about themselves and the world around them.
