  • Book Series to Keep Kids Reading

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

Thank you for your generous donations to our classroom library. The students in our class were so eager to read these books and have already fallen in love with these series. Students are reading these books every chance they get. The books came quickly and are just as perfect as we expected them to be. The mixture of chapter books and graphic novels is just what we needed to liven up our classroom book selection. I'm so happy to see these books in the hands of such amazing readers! We appreciate your kindness!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Slade

  • Geronimo Stilton for Fourth Graders

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

We were so excited today when our books arrived. This project was just posted and we can't believe how quickly it was funded. I showed all 50 of the brand new books to our class and the students can't wait to read them. One student even proclaimed that they were going to try to read all 50 books this school year. Other students immediately agreed that they wanted to do the same. Thank you for funding this project that will bring so much joy and learning to our classroom. We appreciate your kindness!”

  • STEM Supplies for Smart Students

    Funded Feb 2, 2024

These supplies were an incredible gift for our classroom. My students have already incorporated so many of these materials into our STEM and Project Based Learning units. The colored pencils and beautiful, brightly colored papers are truly making the students' work shine.

An important piece of Project Based Learning units is when students present their work to authentic audiences. Having name tags for students helps during these times. In addition, the colorful markers make student work visually appealing and visible from a distance.

Thank you for giving us supplies to enhance student work!”

  • Graphic Novels for Great Readers

    Funded Jan 26, 2023

Thank you so much. My students were overjoyed when these books arrived in our classroom. We already had a few of the Geronimo Stilton series, so the students were delighted to see so many other titles. The graphic novels are so bright and eye catching. I know that once the students read one, they will be motivated to read all that we have received. I especially love that so many of these books have a hard cover. The high quality makes them feel even more special. Thank you for your donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Slade

  • Just the Basics

    Funded Jul 4, 2022

Thank you so much. These generous donations may be considered basic supplies, but they are worth their weight in gold. Being able to color code writing on the board with these beautiful whiteboard markers is a helpful strategy for many of my students. We are also making good use of the construction paper and erasers. After all, learning is all about making mistakes and learning from them (so we erase a lot). Finally, learning is so much more fun when it can be interactive. The scissors and glue are allowing us to truly get into our learning.

    We are so appreciative.”

  • Adjustable Height Desks

    Funded May 4, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations. We received the adjustable height desks a few weeks ago. Our students were eager to learn who would be able to sit at them first. We were quickly able to customize the height of the desks to be just right for our students.

I was particularly pleased with the quality of these desks and the accompanying chairs. As an added bonus, these desks have sturdy hooks to hold our students' materials and keep our classroom organized. I'm looking forward to being able to use them for years to come.”

  • Super Standing Desks

    Funded Dec 7, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our standing desk project. As a result of your donations we were able to add two standing desks to our classroom. Our students were amazed to see the standing desks on the day that they first arrived and were so excited to see who would be lucky enough to try out the desks first. These desks provide an opportunity for students to choose how they learn best, sitting or standing. Giving students this autonomy will undoubtedly help them to be most successful.”

  • A New Dry-Erase Whiteboard for Our Students

    Funded Aug 25, 2020

We thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. We could hardly wait for our wonderful custodian to hang our brand new dry-erase board in our classroom. We now have a board that we can easily write on and erase. What is even more wonderful is how nicely our projected images look on our brand new board. With our hybrid learning model, students are relying on technology more than ever before. While you may not think of a dry-erase board as a piece of technology, it is certainly a big piece of the puzzle. Thank you so much!”

  • Our Pencils Are Dull!

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations to this project. While a broken pencil sharpener or worn out markers may seem like a minor inconvenience, these are invaluable resources in the classroom. We immediately began to use the new markers and pencil sharpener and the students were elated (and so was their teacher)! We spoke as a class about the best ways to keep our pencil sharpener in great shape. We decided as a class that we won't use it to sharpen our crayons or colored pencils so that we can keep it in great working order for the pencils that we need for academics. Thank you so much!”

  • Chalkboards are Out, Easels are In!

    Funded Oct 7, 2018

Thank you so much for the whiteboard easels. There are three teachers that work in my classroom. Much of our instruction takes place in a small group setting. We all find it valuable to be able to post the objective of our lesson at our small group tables. These whiteboards allow us to post objectives for each lesson that we teach in a place that is easy for our students to read and for us to refer back to during instruction.

These whiteboards are also helpful during lessons when students are struggling to decode a word or solve a math problem. It is helpful as a teacher, to be able to take a difficult word and work through each part with the students. Or, as we often do in math, it is helpful to be able to document a student's thinking as they solve difficult problems.

    We truly appreciate your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Slade

Our students are so excited to learn and spend a ton of time in text in fourth grade. They are a group of diverse learners with amazing potential. Many of our students qualify for free or reduced priced meals. Our school is located in the heart of the neighborhood that many of our students live in. We are so proud of our community and know that our students are its future.
