My 2nd grade ICT classroom is anything but dull! Our classroom community consists students with diverse needs and personalities. The students are sweet and fun loving and need to be given the opportunity to experience how engaging the classroom can really be! The majority of my students come from low income, non-English speaking families. Several of these students also have special needs. The families often lack the resources to buy basic necessities, let alone new games and activities for the children. With the lack of funding within the school and community, my students have been unable to experience the wonders of engaging in these supplemental materials. Especially with the pressure placed on students with new standards and high stakes testing, these children need an extra boost to become motivated and engaged in their learning processes.
