Paving the Path to Reading
Funded Sep 24, 2023Thank you so very much for helping my students learn to read by providing high quality Science of Reading aligned materials. We have been busily working away learning through play at our centers and integrating all the materials into our daily routine. The scores that I have seen this year show me what a significant impact having quality materials can make in the classroom. The students have been very excited to use these item for learning and to expand their knowledge.
Again, thank you very much.”

Funded Aug 28, 2023Thank you so very much for the ability to help my children read. It is so very critical to give children a strong and engaging foundation. When I first opened the boxes, the children were still at school and able to see what we recieved. They were so incredibly excited! They could not wait to use the Learning Locks and the puzzles! We have utilized these two in particular into our reading group rotations. It has been a special joy for me as a teacher, and human being, to watch them engage with the materials and each other. The learning that is happening is carying over to the next day when they realize , "Oh wait! Pizza starts with P so it goes with the pig picture!" The children are remebering their learning and I truely believe that having engaging materials plays a big part in that! I have included several pictures of our room and learning to give you just a small glimpse into how my students are using these materials. Again, thank you from the bottom of this very grateful teacher's heart!”

Funded Oct 12, 2016Thank you so very much for the books, bins, and pillows. I have always had a deep love for reading and I try to instill that into my students. To do that they need engaging, lively, and familiar text with which to immerse themselves. You have provided this for them and more. We have begun reading many of the books together so as to become familiar with the new tiles while many students are already retelling the titles they have heard. One of the most important early reading skills in Kindergarten is learning to look at the pictures to retell a story. By supplying the children with familiar stories we... you have helped this to happen.
In our class we use books all the time! The library is open for early finishers, transitions between subjects, fun Friday time, and we have a designated time that we ALL read every day for at least 10 minutes. During this D.E.A.R. (drop, everything, and, read) time we put different bins on the tables and it is free choice for reading. Even the teachers have to read a book!
One of the biggest joys as an educator is when I have a child who comes over and asks if they an keep reading! These books have been so engaging that I have had several students that have asked to save their book so that they can finish it later. We have even had to design a check out system within the class for the more popular books. Again I can not thank you enough for opening the love of reading to a child!”

Cozy Carpet
Funded Nov 8, 2015I want to express to you my sincere gratitude for your help in purchasing the carpet for our classroom. The impact it has had on my students has been significant. When they first saw it their little faces were so surprised and filled with wonder that they did not even want to walk on it! They are careful to take care of it and always want to be reading and taking a break on the wonderful softness. This carpet has brightened our room and the children now enjoy even more coming to school to learn.”
