Social Justice Library: Ensuring Equitable Access to Literature

The books that were donated focus on social justice issues that impact Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. With these books, students are able to read about their communities and gain the knowledge to upend the current racist structures in place.

Reading and access to quality books during a pandemic is difficult and highlights the many barriers that already exist when it comes to our students accessing quality literature. However, with these books students are able to access literature even during remote learning.

Students are so grateful and appreciative. One student said "Mr. I am more excited about these books than I am for my birthday. I love reading!" This and many other students are able to read with your support.”
