  • First Grade Fun!

    Funded Mar 4, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our first grade classroom! The children were so excited to open their new ELA centers and try them out! The materials are perfectly aligned to all of the phonics, word work and language standards covered in our curriculum. So, the students felt confident as they sorted long and short vowel sounds, put story tiles in a sequence to make a clear beginning, middle and end and so much more!

One of their favorite activities are the Reader's Theater scripts where the students have the chance to practice fluency, expression and intonation. They love taking turns and acting out the scenes. Of course, the other first grade classes were excited to borrow the fun new materials as well to use in their classrooms. So, your donation will be reaching many more students than those in my class.

I absolutely love being a teacher and it brings me so much joy to see the children laughing, smiling and having fun while they are learning new skills or reviewing those they have already mastered. You have helped to make that possible. Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smith

  • Math Station Sensation

    Funded Jun 25, 2019

Thanks so much for our new Math Station! Today we completed our first unit assessment and as a celebration the kids were able to choose an activity! They were playing board games, using match cards and building shapes. They were all so engaged and excited! These activities have given us a chance to make learning fun again. They got the kids talking and laughing as they reviewed so many different math concepts. Thanks so much for your contribution. I'm sure we will be using these games and activities a whole lot through the years!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smith

Our third graders absolutely love to read! We try to put quality books in their hands whenever we can, to keep their attention and to encourage their interest in reading. We will be reading in book clubs with the theme of social issues. This includes friendship, forgiveness, diversity, self-acceptance and standing up to bullying. These books were hand picked by our third grade teachers and there will be a copy for each class. This unit is sure to open up great conversations about being the best people we can be. In my opinion, this is the most important thing we can teach our children.
