  • Snacks for Hungry Kiddos!

    Funded Jan 16, 2025

I can't thank you enough for the opportunity to provide snacks for special occasions when kids are hungry, birthdays, celebrations, or just because. Who doesn't enjoy having a snack here and there by earning enough points for trying their best?

My students were ecstatic to get some well-deserved treats from doing their best in class. My students set goals and often know they are trying their best despite difficulties at home or learning challenges.

I look forward to seeing more success and enjoyment in earning snacks for working and trying their best in class. There have been days when a difficult time is turned around by having lunch with the teacher and enjoying a snack.

We truly thank you for your generosity and hope you can assist us with future endeavors.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Zwick

  • Help Us get Wobble Chairs For Students Flexible Seating Choice

    Funded Jan 9, 2025

It has been amazing seeing my third graders who look forward to earning their turn sitting on the wobble chairs. With these wobble chairs, my students know that taking turns is important in learning to share. Best of all we have a Wheel Name we use to see who gets the chair for the day.

My students were static when they received these chairs, I have seen a difference when they sit on them and learn in class. When students don't like to participate because they don't like being wrong. However, when we spin the Wheel Name, they look forward to answering, as they will be placed in a second drawing to get an opportunity to sit on that chair wherever they are in class.

I have students who are concerned with the current status of our state and how some are dealing with fears of losing their homes. I keep reassuring my students that they are safe in school and we will get through rough times no matter what happens.

This is why I am truly grateful for your generosity.”

  • Little Lions' Flexible Seating Makes a Difference

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

It was so exciting to see my students have the opportunity to share flexible bean bags, juices, and a cart for resources to organize our classroom. The bean bags are a big hit as many students enjoy sitting on them when I have small groups and they have independent time to work and read with other students.

My students were excited to have juice drinks as some scorching school days in our city were unbearable. It was nice to have juices and treats as a reward for ensuring that they were working on classroom assignments and sharing their strategies on how they came up with their answers.

I think that with the opportunity to have flexible seating choices, I have students who can choose where to sit. I enjoy seeing my students wanting to sit near their partners and share their favorite books.

I hope to get more soccer ball bean bags and have more students share them.”

  • Help Us Replenish End-of-the-Year Classroom Supplies

    Funded Mar 17, 2024

Working with first graders was not easy and although it took quite a bit of patience, it was amazing to see how my students looked forward to the summer after a long year of learning a new reading and writing curriculum.

My students could not believe how many gifts they received at the end of the school year. They were static to have bags of goodies that went home for the summer. I had so many parents who could not believe how your generosity made students realize that people like yourselves care.

My students were able to have books that although some struggled to read, they worked together to help sound out the words and read to comprehend and write details about what they read. I also saw that they were able to learn strategies to help them add and subtract with manipulatives.

They went home for the summer very happy and I am truly grateful for your generosity.”

  • Snacks to Celebrate Meeting Reading and Math Goals

    Funded Feb 26, 2024

I can't believe how amazing it was to see my students meet their goals in reading and math. A lot of my students worked diligently to reach their goal of increasing by 5 to 10 points to reach grade level. Although some students weren't as successful, they were reminded that continuing to read and practice their math facts will assist in continuing to grow during the summer.

What kids doesn't love snacks? My students were static to have received some snacks to munch on and enjoy.

It was truly amazing to see so many students enjoy their snacks as not many students can afford to buy snacks and they look forward to getting some from donors like yourselves.

Thank you so much for your generosity.”

    Mrs. Zwick

  • Writing Tablets to Take Home for the Summer

    Funded May 9, 2024

How exciting is it to see children who are getting to come up with complete sentences and practice adding or subtracting, well let me tell you that it is fantastic! I have been teaching for 11 years, and seeing children learn is still very rewarding.

My students were sure to finish the school year positively knowing that most had improved their reading levels and math concepts. Hearing children want to share how they solve a problem is always exciting.

This summer will be very exciting for all my students because they will have a tablet to continue to practice their learned skills. When my students can show how much they have learned this year as it was challenging with a new reading curriculum.

    Thank you for your generosity.”

  • Gifts For The Holidays

    Funded Nov 12, 2023

My students were very thrilled to receive a winter gift in the bag of their choice. They selected their choice of winter holiday hats, gloves, earmuffs, and scarves of different colors or mix and match. In addition, they received pencils with erasers to use at home along with a Squishmallows Mini Plush of their choice. We had hot chocolate and cookies and they were able to have some fruit snacks that we still have as rewards. They ate a bag of popcorn and Capris juice when we saw the Polar Express movie on the last day of school. They were able to make their ornament and take it home to give to their loved ones. We didn't have as much time to make additional ornaments and some students had a chance to take some goodies home that were provided by other students.

I get excited and I look forward to seeing my students with their winter wear as the weather has been chili here in Las Vegas.

I am looking into working towards writing another project to get some more snacks as those are almost gone. It might include some Easter items or perhaps the end-of-the-year celebration prizes for their effort in passing to the second grade knowing that their effort is appreciated. Thank you so much for helping me make their Christmas a great one!”

  • Organization to the Rescue!

    Funded Oct 19, 2023

My students were excited to no longer have enough room to look all over for their own whiteboards and school supplies all over the place. Students in first grade need to be ready to transition from subject to subject. We don't have that much downtime and to transition from reading to intervention, we need to be able to clean up and put our books away quickly and store them where they can be found quickly the next day.

We are now able to have storage bins that can be next to each other and keep small consumable reading materials, and reading books that they can be able to read independently and take an Accelerated Reader test to check for comprehension.”
