Help! I'm Trapped in My Teacher's Body!
Funded Oct 4, 2006Thank you SO much for funding the class set of "Help! I'm Trapped in My Teacher's Body!" for my class. This book will be such a fun way to kick off our Todd Strasser author study. My 7th graders love reading books together, and Todd Strasser seems like an author who will really get them laughing and interested in reading. I've had these seventh graders since sixth grade, and they are truly the best kids and the lights of my life. I am so excited to be able to give them this wonderful gift because of you. The Old Farmer's Almanac for Kids
Funded Sep 12, 2006Thank you SO much for funding the class set of "The Old Farmer's Almanac for Kids" for my class! This is one of their favorite books in the library, and is such a great learning tool. It will be wonderful for every student in my room to have a copy of this book, so that I can do some formal lessons from it. Being in such an urban setting, I think it's important that they learn about nature, gardening, plants, animals, and other things that they might otherwise not have much access to. I am thrilled to be getting these books for my class, and I know my students will be even more thrilled to get them. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous gift!

Self-Portraits With Frida Kahlo, Part 2
Funded Jul 27, 2006Thank you so much for funding the art supplies for my Frida Kahlo self-portrait project. I am so happy that it was funded this summer! I will now be able to start with it as soon as the materials arrive in the fall. This project is going to be so cool and exciting for the students! I have never attempted to do an elaborate art project like this because of the lack of supplies at my school, and I can't tell you how grateful I am that I can finally do such a thing. Making Movies Through Literature
Funded Jun 30, 2006Thank you so, so, SO much for funding the camcorder for my junior high students! I am ecstatic that we will be receiving this wonderful resource in the fall. We read so many books that lend themselves well to movies, and it will be so great to have our own camcorder to record these pieces of art! I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when they see what we will be able to do. My students don't have access to this kind of technology at home, so they will be so happy to be able to learn about it in school. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Building Suspense In Sixth Grade

Help English Language Learners Become Better Writers!
Funded Jun 2, 2006Thank you SO much for funding the writing curriculum for my 6th grade students. Because summer vacation is nearly upon us, my students will be sending you feedback when we return to school in the fall. I am so excited that this proposal was funded! My students need so much help with writing, and this unit of study will be such a fabulous guide for us to enjoy writing together. Sixth Graders Need Class Sets of Books!
Funded May 12, 2006Thank you so much for funding the completion of the class set of the book "Please Don't Ask Me To Love You" by Anne Schraff! I am so happy to receive these books because it is literally everybody's favorite book. Now I will be able to read this book to many more classes. I only have 7 copies of the book right now, so I have been limited to sharing it only with very small classes. I am very touched that somebody would provide my wonderful students with a new book. Sixth Grade Secrets

Student Dictionaries Would Be So Nice!
