Mental Health Classroom Garden
Funded Oct 1, 2024Thank you so much for your support in bringing our Mental Health Garden to life! Because of your kindness, my students now have the opportunity to nurture plants from seed, watching them grow day by day. The excitement in our classroom is palpable as students check on their seedlings, tend to their soil, and learn firsthand about the power of nature. This hands-on experience is not just about gardening—it's about fostering patience, mindfulness, and a deep connection to the world around them.
Already, our little garden is transforming our basement classroom, filling it with fresh greenery and a renewed sense of calm. The presence of plants has made an immediate impact, creating a more peaceful and inviting space where students can take a breath, reset, and find comfort in their surroundings. What was once just an idea is now a thriving corner of growth—both for our plants and for the students who care for them.
Your generosity has provided more than just supplies; it has given my students a sense of ownership, responsibility, and joy. We are so grateful for this gift and look forward to updating you as our garden continues to flourish. Thank you for believing in our classroom and in the power of nature to support students' well-being.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Shaffer
