I have 16 students in my class. There are six girls and ten boys. Majority of my students come form a low social economic background. There are three students who have Individualize Education Plan's and BIP. My school has approximately 425 students, majority of our students are African-American. My students need a lot of encouragement when it comes to learning. Most are eager to learn and are receptive to positive reinforcement. They have limited background knowledge, therefore its difficult for them to relate or connect their experiences to most of the stories within our reading program. I use projects and writing opportunities for them to express themselves and utilize their creativity.
