Funded Jun 13, 2024Thank you so much for donating to this project. My class loves using the wobble stools for small group instruction. The subtle movement allows them to fidget and move quietly to release energy, ultimately allowing them to focus better.
The class was so excited when we unpacked the boxes. We rotated through so each student got a chance to sit on them for a class period. Being called back to the table to do guided reading groups is now a really fun experience for them.
I plan on using these stools for years to come. I'm already seeing success this school year and we just started the year! I can't wait to see how the year goes and see how it positively affects their understanding and reading comprehension.”

Funded Jan 25, 2024My third grade students love using the new whisper phones that you helped purchase. They are gaining so much confidence with reading fluency when using the whisper phones. These reading aids are enhancing their reading comprehension and fluency by enabling my students to hear themselves read without having to worry about who else in the classroom can hear them. The fun colors and easy design make them really student friendly so they love using them for AR reading, reading comprehension story tests, etc. My students' successes would not have been possible without your help. I am so grateful for your generosity.”

Materials to Inspire Creative Writing
Funded Dec 25, 2023Thank you so much for the materials to inspire creative writing. My students love reading the historical fiction graphic novels. The books have allowed my students to learn about important historical events, such as the American Revolution. Then, my class wrote a creative writing journal entry pretending to be a soldier during that time period. Their creativity exploded and I have you to thank for that! Next, we are going to read the novel, "I Survived 9/11." Once the class is finished we'll do a writing assignment as a person walking on the streets of New York City. I'm excited to read their writings! Again, thank you for inspiring this creativity and making my students better writers.”

Printing With a Purpose
Funded Oct 17, 2021Thank you so much for helping me buy a color printer for my classroom. The pandemic caused budget cuts at my elementary school, so color printing isn't possible this school year.
Using the color printer has already proven to be beneficial for my ELA lessons. Color-coding paragraphs, parts of speech, and text evidence within a story, allows my students to learn the functions of each paragraph and all of the rules of writing. Color coding classroom activities is also helping my students stay engaged during a new ELA lesson.
I can't thank you enough for your donation.”

Diversity Through Books
Funded Mar 16, 2021Thank you so much for helping me fund this multicultural book project. I feel it was necessary to expose my students to different backgrounds. My district is primarily made up of one skin type, so my students don't encounter a lot of diversity on a daily basis. The one way I can expose them to such diversity is through these wonderful books. The books are written on their level and are easy for a young student to connect with. My students can "take a walk in someone else's shoes" to try to realize what is was like people of color and different ethnic backgrounds throughout history.”

"E" is for Easel
Funded Oct 16, 2020Thank you for helping to fund the project, "E is for Easel" for my 3rd grade classroom. My students have been using the easel to practice their spelling and grammar words each week. We created a game like "Pictonary" but we are calling it "Spellonary!" They can't wait to play each week.
This easel allows two students to write at a time. I like that it is double sided, because I can still make learning fun but keep the students socially distanced due to the challenges of Covid-19. Anything that makes learning more engaging and fun during these challenging times in education is phenomenal. Thank you for helping me provide a fun learning activity for my class.”

Funded Oct 22, 2020Thank you so much for helping to fund my "Boatload of Books" project for my 3rd grade classroom. These books have been very helpful to use as examples when teaching narrative, informational, and persuasive writing. Writing in general is difficult for 3rd graders, but having interesting and fun stories to read as examples has really gotten my students excited about writing. Having these books in class while we are writing has proven to be very beneficial. The improvement shown in their writings since I started using these books as examples is so impressive. The amount of detail they are including in their writings has increased greatly.”

Funded Jul 24, 2020Thank you so much for helping me purchase this air purifier for my classroom. It is always important to stop the spread of germs in an elementary classroom, but especially this year! This air purifier allows my students to work in the classroom with confidence that the air is cleaner.
This air purifier runs quietly in our classroom while we are learning. My students love making sure I turn it on EVERY day so that our air is clean and less "germy." I have definitely noticed less sicknesses spreading around the room, which has really helped my students' attendance. I hardly have anyone absent due to not feeling well. I think having the air purifier is contributing to that. It is definitely making a difference already. I'm so happy my classroom will have this air purifier during flu season!”
