Funded May 7, 2019Thank you so much for donating to my "Build It" project. Thanks to your kindness my students are able to represent and build models using Legos. This not only makes the lessons I am teaching more engaging, but students are able to show what they've learned in ways other than traditional assessments.
The brain teasers and puzzles provide for engaging and challenging issues during indoor recess. It is so nice to be able to offer them more than just a computer program! My students and I are beyond grateful for your generosity!”

Funded Aug 23, 2018I am so grateful for your donations. You have helped me make my flexible seating dream into a reality. I wish you were able to see the looks on my new students' faces when they walked into my classroom for the first time this year. They were curious and excited to see "non-traditional" seating choices, like the wobble stools and bean bag chairs. The colorful bins and pencil holders make it easy for students to stay organized and keep track of materials. Nesting tables and lap desks provide them with hard surfaces to utilize when they are using the carpet area or bean bag seats. Thus far behavior challenges are minimal and students love being able to choose where they are going to learn. I am excited to start this new adventure with them and see how it continues to positively impact my classroom environment!”

Funded Oct 19, 2017Your kind contributions have really helped to bring math and science to life in my classroom. I am able to use the magazines to have the students complete cross-curricula projects that strengthen skills is all subject areas. The magazines also provide students with real life examples of the topics we are focusing on in the classroom. For example, one of our science topics is global warming. In one of the Science magazines there was an article on global warming and how it is impacting various areas throughout the world. Students were then able to take the information from the article along with what they have learned in class and complete an essay on the topic.
We use the magazines in various capacities, from independent work to group projects, to pleasure reading. Students love the topics covered in the magazines and the colorful illustrations really bring it to life. The magazines are especially helpful for my ESL and special education students. They provide these students with visuals that support the information in the text and allows them to have a visual representation.
I am so grateful for your kindness and generosity!!”

Funded Mar 7, 2009I wish it were possible for you to come in and experience firsthand the difference that your donation has made for my students. Through your kindness and generosity it is now possible for my students to experience things that before were untouchable. It now makes it easier for them to attain the same hopes and dreams as other students who have far more supplies and resources. Through your donation my students can understand that music can be more than just "noise", it can help you express your feelings, hopes and dreams. It is because of you I now have fun and interactive methods for teaching all students, regardless of ability level. You have helped me to give my students everything I hope for them, dreams, chances, and opportunities. I hope that you feel a great deal of fulfillment and satisfaction, because you deserve it. Thank you again, and best wishes.”

Move Forward 3 Spaces
Funded Jan 13, 2009Wow, I don't even know where to begin. This is the first DonorsChoose.org project I have had funded, and it is such an amazing feeling. When I received the confirmation email I was literally jumping up and down yelling. I hope you realize what a truly amazing thing you have done. It is because of you that I will be able to provide my students with a better education. With the help of these board games and other reading materials, my students will be able to strengthen their reading skills and still have fun all while learning how to work together. Through these materials it will be possible for me to show my students that learning can happen while you are having fun. Best of all it is through these activities that my students will be able to strengthen their CMT test taking skills. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I know my students do too. Thank you again and take care”
