Making the connection between math and the real world is essential in getting the students to "buy in" when it comes to math, it is the hook! Math can be complicated and confusing, especially for students who struggle with math fluency. Completing activities that connect math to Sports, Home Decorating, Remodeling, Cooking , Shopping etc, provides students practice in these key areas. The materials listed will give students the opportunity to practice the basic operations needed to make that connection to math in everyday life . Adding the flashcards, games, math manipulatives will allow the students to have much needed hands on practice with the basic math skills needed in math class and beyond,
