All students learn in various styles. All of the resources in my project are geared to help my students learn to read and increase their reading level. During Daily 5 centers students are working on reading in different ways. One of the ways they learn is listening to stories being read to them. With a listening center my students will be able to listen to a story being read while following along with the words in their own books. The books with CD is what will be used in this listening center. It will allow for 4 students at a time to listen to a story and follow along with their own book. After listening to their stories they are responsible for a comprehension writing piece. The scholastics magazine will be another center. The students will read in a small group and work through the magazines interactive piece to answer questions and check comprehension on what they have read. These magazines also cross reference the social studies and science curriculums used.
