Wobble While Learning!
Funded Dec 8, 2022Thank you so much for donating to this project! At my middle school, our schedule is blocked meaning students are sitting in their content area classes for up to 80 minutes each day! Many of my students need opportunities to maintain their engagement through movement and these stools provide this. Each stool is utilized each day in class and they rotate amongst each other on who gets the wobble stool for that class period.
Students were so excited when they saw the boxes being delivered to our classroom. The first thing they noted was that the stools were far superior to the ones that other classes had. Students also like that the height could be changed to meet whatever height was needed to sit comfortably with the tables.
Providing students an opportunity for more flexible seating options by adding wobble stools has me looking forward to the future with how my classroom is set up. In future projects, I would love to add more additions for wobble stools, balance balls, standing desks, and other options for students to be able to learn their best.”

Engaging Students in the Digital World
Funded Aug 7, 2014I want to first start off by thanking you for this amazing donation! When the package arrived at school, I felt like it was Christmas morning, and I couldn't wait to open it and start using them. Within days, I had the Activexpression devices open and really to go. The students were beyond thrilled to be using the devices. They felt special knowing that they were the first and only students in the school to be using the devices. Immediately, I could see the excitement and motivation on each student's face.
The students have been using the devices during both reading and science classes on a regular basis. Each week in science, we practice observation and inferencing skills with scientific pictures recording our thoughts on the devices. It allows the students to go at their own pace which is great for making observations. During reading time, I incorporate a lot of centers, and the devices are always a center where students will respond their reading on their devices. The students are so engaged with their devices that nothing else diverts their attention. Lastly, I use them for my quick assessments to check for understanding, not only does it allow students to go at their own pace, but we go over results as a class and look for trends to see what we are still having a difficult time understanding.
The devices have completely changed my teaching because is allows me to personalize activities for center time very quickly. Having the results instantly and organized saves me time checking how my students are doing with the skill. I think the devices brought the class together where we are learning from each other. I get so excited when the students figured out a trick to do with the device that I did not know. Great way for them to teach me as well! Naturally since I can track their skills easier and faster, their learning is at center focus for improving. I have seen unmotivated students become motivated just by adding the chance to use their devices.
I look forward to continue to see these results for the rest of this year and years to come with my students!”
