Help Us "Tone" Our Brain Muscles!
Funded Mar 30, 2010On behalf of my students, thank you so much for your generous and thoughtful donation to our classroom! Because we do not have textbooks that are at an appropriate reading level for my students, it is very challenging to provide them with the necessary preparation they need for their end of the year state exams. Additionally, my students do not have access to science diagrams and test questions that they should be working with in order to practice in class to learn.
The desktop photocopier that you supplied with your donations has been an incredible learning tool for my students! My students eagerly work on their daily handouts. They are now able to use their time more efficiently in the classroom, because they no longer have to waste their time copying questions and drawing sketches of test question diagrams. Additionally, my students are now able to practice more on their own, and have something to study from!
It is evident that my students are proud of the handouts they receive. They keep their handouts organized in binders, and are eager to flip through their binders to show off all their work!
Thank you for providing my students with the materials and the confidence to succeed!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Pflug

Funded Oct 6, 2009On behalf of my eighth grade students, I would like to sincerely thank you for the generous gift of supplies you donated to our classroom!
The toner and copy paper that you provided my students with enables them to receive a handout every single day. These handouts are indispensable to their learning experience in science class. They are able to use their time more effectively. Instead of wasting time copying down examples from the board, they now can focus on answering the question right away. Additionally, my students now have access to important science diagrams and visual representations that our outdated classroom textbooks cannot provide!
Above all, the materials you provided my students with have given them more confidence in their ability to do well in school. Many of my students struggle with reading comprehension, and the materials that you have given us have allowed my students to have more exposure to practice questions that they can take home and keep to study for this tests. They put their handouts in their class binders and take a lot of pride in looking through all of the handouts that they have completed.
Your donation helped these deserving students learn science more efficiently and effectively, and I can't possibly thank you enough for that!”

Funded Mar 24, 2009On behalf of my seventh grade students, I would like to sincerely thank you for the generous gift of supplies you donated to our classroom!
The materials you gave us provided a way for my students to understand science in a hands-on way and truly prepare for the exam that they will take in 8th grade. My 7th grade scientists learned to determine the volume and mass of the density blocks, calculate density, and observed whether or not each block float or sank in water. All of my students got a change to work with the density kits because there was enough to share- thanks to you! Also, the scissors, balloons, gloves, and other items have been essential in science demonstrations and for their individual experiments. For example, we used the gloves and scissors to dissect frogs as a culminating experiment for our Human Body Unit. This gave them a lasting memory that will stick with them for the 8th grade science test!
Above all, the materials you provided for my students allowed them to more easily and deeply understand science. As I mentioned in my proposal, many of my students are English language learners, and often find it especially challenging and frustrating to comprehend what they read. With the aid of visuals, and hands-on experiences, my students feel much more confident in their ability to learn science. With these materials, my students have experienced a feeling of success in school.
Thank you for believing in my 7th grade scientists!

Funded Nov 20, 2008On behalf of my students, thank you so much for your generous support! My students will be so lucky to receive so many hands-on materials to work with. They will be exploring fossils, rocks and minerals, making models, and using the supplies throughout the year for labs. Many of my students struggle with reading comprehension, and hands-on activities are the perfect way to help them truly understand (and love!) science. Perhaps most importantly, hands-on activities will help boost their confidence in their ability to succeed in school. You have affected 150 lives! Thank you for making it happen”

Funded Aug 30, 2008My students(the Class of 2018) and I sincerely thank you for all that you have given us.
But, you have given these students SO much more than science binders!
You have given students a chance to develop the important organizational skills that will set them up for success in high school and college.
And perhaps even more importantly, you have given my students greater belief in themselves that they can and will succeed. How so, you might ask. The very fact that there are people out there(who don't even know them!)who are willing to provide them with what they need actually shows them that other people believe in them too.
Thank you, for believing in my students and helping me guide our future scientists!
