Let's Eliminate Plastic!
Funded Jan 6, 2024The students and I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU for all the supplies for our 'Let's Eliminate Plastic!' project! The students are so thrilled to prepare for Earth Day and our school's upcoming 'single-use plastic awareness day'! We have been reading the read alouds and coming up with ideas that can help us be more aware of our usage of single use plastic and to help with eliminating trash in our lunches.
The class is super excited to get started on making posters and reminders to display in our class and the school hallways! The cardstock and Sharpies will come in great use for making these posters and signs. The individual white boards and Expo markers will help provide a new place for ideas to be drawn out, instead of using paper! Overall, the students will learn a lot of great deal of background knowledge and important information that will lead to better lifestyle habits.”

Everyday Supplies and Tools for All
Funded Oct 26, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donation of all the necessary supplies and tools we need for our everyday learning at school. It's because of special people like you who understand how crucial it is for our students to have access to important classroom materials. Without these everyday supplies, my students wouldn't be able to be fully engaged in the lessons and complete their own independent tasks.
All the materials that you have donated have enabled my students to have an uninterrupted school day with a so many brand new supplies such as pencil sharpeners, plenty of pencils that will take us through the rest of the school year and plenty of Post It Notes that will also be enough for the rest of the year's Reader's Workshop lessons.
Again, we greatly appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness!”

Ms. Lee

Funded Sep 6, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donations of book bins, desk top easel for dry erase markers, social justice read aloud books and white boards for our class. I have been able to use all of these materials for class time in some form, despite teaching on Zoom. Once we return to the classroom, these materials will be utilized a great deal!
During these tough times, I have been able to share the uplifting and encouraging true story read alouds with my students. These books have helped my students become aware of other kids and their different unique situations. I believe my students are empathetic and sensitive to others and have found some sort of inspiration from these real life characters.
We will continue to be aware of others' needs and be sensitive towards one another. With continued distance learning happening, the ability to have such great resources and materials will keep me organized and provide plenty of learning tools for my students.”

Funded Aug 24, 2014Thank you so much for the generous donations of book bins and new books for our class! My students were really excited when I told them about the new additions to our classroom library. Our library has become a great resource for my students who love the variety of books in our collection.
Before this donation, our classroom library wasn't easily accessible, without any real organization. However, now with our new book bins, the library has been reorganized by reading levels, fiction/non-fiction, genre and author. My students can easily find any book because they know exactly where to look! We are so grateful for our new library, as reading is always one of my students' favorite activities to do at school!
With the help of our new library, I have begun teaching a new Reading/Writing curriculum, Readers Workshop, which has been extremely successful! My students are individually leveled and are improving their skills by reading books on their own level. Each day we do Readers Workshop, students learn a new reading strategy and then have time to practice it while reading books of their choice. My students are excited every time we do Readers Workshop!
Once again, my students and I greatly appreciate all of our new resources for our library! Thank you all so much!”

Funded Feb 13, 2014Dear Generous Donors,
I want to personally thank each of you for the generous donations that brought my class a mobile easel! This easel has helped in so many ways. With both sides, I have the ability to support my instruction and write additional directions and demonstrations. Also, I with both sides being magnetic, I am able to hang extra visual aides which support my teaching.
The students were so excited when they saw the easel and said it is the perfect height for them to reach! Being accessible to them, the easel provides an interactive and engaging learning environment. They can engage by writing answers, jotting down ideas and expressing themselves.
Currently, we are using the easel as resource for our San Francisco History Unit in Victorian Houses. On one side, we have images of SF famous landmarks. On the other side, we have directions and extra challenge math problems. On the bottom tray, we are storing more SF pictures and extra white board resources (erasers, markers and rulers).
I can't thank you enough for this much needed and useful mobile teaching tool! Not only is this a resource for my current class, but it will be so useful in the school years to come!!”

Funded May 20, 2012This is a note of appreciation for your generous donation to my class' Language Arts program. The Literature Circle books have enhanced my students' reading interests, vocabulary knowledge and communication skills.
Additionally, the Teacher's Manuals that was included with each set has been a tremendous help for me. It has given me great ideas for encouraging positive student sharing and talking, writing and reading skills.
Without these new resources, my class would not have the experience of such a wide variety of valuable children literature. My students have thoroughly enjoyed all of these new materials!”

Comfy Learning Environment
Funded Aug 30, 2010Thank you so much for your generosity! Our class looks much more inviting and colorful with the new rug. It gives the classroom a welcoming feel for our visitors. Not only does it help the students quickly find their space, the colored squares make it a great tool for other classroom activities.
We have placed our new rug right in front of our white board and I can tell how comfortable it is for the kids! We will not only put use in the rug this school year, but for many years to come. Thank you so much for making a great impact to our classroom education!!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lee
