My students are learning how to read in Spanish and in English. We spend half of the day in each language. It is very important that we have books in both languages. Research shows that a strong foundation in their first language helps to develop literacy in English. We want them to be productive citizens when they grow up. Our Reading and Language Arts lessons are full of instructional strategies and activities that help our students to learn. It is essential that we have all the materials necessary to accomplish this objective. We need fiction and nonfiction books to implement our lessons.
