  • Infinity LEGO Building

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for your donation to my class. The LEGO sets have most definitely been helpful in teaching and with student retention. We already used Lego's to begin building our model city. My students and I appreciate the donation because it has given us all motivation to continue with our goals. For that especially, I thank you. My students are completely engaged and it makes teaching fun especially since it involves Marvel comics. Thank you for giving my students a chance to have fun while learning; my students and I won't forget it. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. N.

  • Transforming Communities

    Funded Sep 28, 2017

Thank you for your your donation; it means a lot to my students and I. The Transformer sets have been helpful in teaching communication and team building as some the transformers are tricky to work on. The kiddos love it so much! We already used Transformer's and to connect it with our previous projects of powering it up and adding mechanical parts to it; we are reshaping and making it into new transformers. My students and I appreciate the donation because it has given us all motivation to continue with our projects. For that especially, I thank you. My students are completely engaged and it makes teaching fun! Thank you for giving me a chance to be a better teacher; my students and I won't forget it. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.”

  • Building Our Recreation Room

    Funded Jul 17, 2017

Thank you for giving my students an opportunity to explore the wonderful world of arcades. Not only are my students engaged, they are starting to realize that the tiny detail can make a difference. We have been using the supplies to restore an arcade and are in the process of building a miniature version. The supplies has given me an opportunity to restore and teach students about the inner workings of machinery.

Thank you for your gift; it has sparked curiosity back into my students and has given them bright ideas about their futures.”

  • Comics Galore!

    Funded Jul 7, 2017

Thank you for giving my students an opportunity to explore the wonderful world of graphic storytelling, aka comics. Not only are my students engaged, they are starting to notice the connections within the world around them. The books have given me an opportunity to teach and reinforce much needed reading strategies and skills that will prepare them for their upcoming end of year assessment. There are many skills that the text will provide great lessons to, but the biggest lesson that has been really effective has been summarizing text. Prior to reading this text, my students would give me every detail and not put it in their own words. By using this text and re-teaching the strategy, it was a night and day difference; my students got it and they apply this strategy to other subjects.

Thank you for your gift; it has sparked curiosity back into my students. The texts are not an informational text that the students did just to do; they genuinely do not put the books down.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. N.

  • Jedi Academy @ Millennia!

    Funded Jul 23, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Thank you for giving my padawans an opportunity to explore the wonderful world of Jedi Academy. Not only are my students engaged, they are starting to see "the force" all around them.

The text is used during my reading centers and it has been used with my book club students. My students are advocates for each other and since summarizing was an issue with others, they started to teach the strategy using this text to their classmates. It is truly amazing to see this happen right in front of my eyes.

The book club students were the first to read the first story and have begun reading the second in the series. Now another literature group has picked up the first story and when they are finished, another group will pick it up. The goal is for the entire class to read the text because truth be told, my class is truly a STAR WARS class; our class name is the Storm troopers. My book club is currently making LEGO dioramas of certain scenes of the story to present in the media center. The entire class is excited about these books.

Thank you for your gift; it has sparked curiosity back into my students. The text was not an informational text that the students did just to do; they genuinely did not put the book down. They absorbed the content and meaning behind it; life is tough, but never give up on yourself.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. N.

  • Reading with LEGO

    Funded Dec 2, 2014

I can't begin to express what your donation means to my students and I. The LEGO sets have most definitely been helpful in teaching and with student retention. We already used Lego's to model segregation during the 60's and to display plant cell structures. The LEGO sets will extremely get good use and there's no doubt about that. I greatly appreciate the thought behind the gift because it means that there are still good people willing to help educators. This also has helped me lightened the load for materials. For that especially, I thank you.

Knowing that I had the support of donors like you certainly helps me to create new and engaging ways to teach my students. Thank you for giving an opportunity to be a better teacher; my students and I won't forget it. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. N.

I teach and I find myself purchasing many supplies for my students to engage them and hold their attention. My students are hands on learners and using LEGO to engage them during reading and for rules and procedures will not only engage them, but make coming to school meaningful.
