Teacher, What's Happened to the Radio?
Funded Oct 22, 2009I would like to take the time to thank you personally for the changes you have given to my classroom. Because of your generosity, I have had the ability to do numerous things in my classroom that were not possible before. Probably the most impressive thing that I have been able to do is implement a musical journaling activity. I can present my students with a musical selection for listening, discussion and evaluation. Many have shown a lot of excitement with wanting to know what the new song of the week will be.
Your generosity has also taught my students that being generous and giving back is important. We used the radio to play music for a school-wide fundraiser for a local backpack for kids program that gives underprivileged students a backpack of food to take home each weekend to help ensure that they are fed. Because most of my students come from homes with very low income, the fact that they paid money to come to the dance and for snacks to help benefit proves that your passing it on has taught them.
Thank you for making such a huge differance in my students and school!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Morris
I Want to Play But What Do I Do With My Music?
Funded Sep 4, 2009I would like to take this time to express my thanks as an educator. As a music teacher, I am very thankful for your donation of ten music stands to my classroom. As the year has progressed and we have received the materials, we have been able to move right past our previous obstacles of what to do with the music and start playing our instruments. I have seen the students grow musically and socially. Because of the Limeades for Learning campaign, the students I see daily have been given an opportunity to reach out to others in their school and have been able to see how giving to their community makes their world a better place. Thank you for giving more than just ten music stands to my students. Thank you for given them the opportunity to practice a life lesson!”

Reading Our Way Through Music
Funded Sep 18, 2009On behalf of my students and myself, I would like to say thank you for the books and cd's. They have been an addition to my room that has an endless value. We have used the books not only to read and learn how songs are musical literature, but have studied the styles of music that are presented in song on the discs.
Your generosity has taught the students in my school a life skill as well that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. They have learned the importance of helping others in need. Thank you again for your donation.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Morris
Rockin' with Recorders
Funded Sep 11, 2009The impact your generous gift of soprano records to my classroom has been tremendous! My students are excited to be able to learn how to play then and learn how easy it is to learn. Many of my students are now starting to make plans of playing in the middle school band upon enrollment.
The fact that your gift has touched these students in a musical way is one thing, but your generosity has also taught them a valuable life lesson. Through the course of this year alone, our students have raised money for a food backpacks for kids program, collected foods for a canned food drive, collected old phone books for a recycling project and are now collecting change to "make a change in Haiti." The fact that they have seen a local business give in support of them has opened their eyes and taught em that it is better to give than receive.
Thank you so much for helping make this change in our students!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Morris
Wild About Rhythm
Funded Dec 29, 2008I am so very appreciative that you thought so much of others, especially children with the need and desire to succeed in life. By having multiple instrumental resources from various cultures, each of my students will be able to learn not only about the music of a culture, but about the people as a whole. Your thoughtfulness is something that my students will never forget. Not only are these students learning more about music by your generosity, but also they are learning life skills and how to give graciously”
With gratitude,
Ms. Morris
