  • Charting Progress

    Funded Jun 22, 2017

Thank you so much for donating to my project, Charting Progress! We love our new chart stand and use it all day long. It allows us to display our anchor charts for reading and math, but also is a great addition to our center time. Students can read a big book or work with word parts using magnetic letters! Students also love being able to compose writing pieces together as a class and share in the reading of our morning message! Thanks so much for donating to my project and making it possible for us to have the chart stand that serves as an essential part of our learning!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Glasgow

  • Sitting in Style

    Funded Jun 18, 2017

Thank you so much for your generosity to my project "Sitting in Style". The use of chair pockets has made a huge impact on my students and our classroom environment. I hope you can tell from the pictures that students love having a space to keep their personal things and store books and other classroom materials. As first graders, students switch classes for reading, and it is easy to store all their things in their chair pockets while they go to another class. Having chair pockets also helps students be responsible for their own belongings and keeps our room neat and clean! Thanks again for your generosity!”

  • Gather Round

    Funded Dec 29, 2016

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my project "Gather Round". My students and I so appreciate your kindness! Our new rug is such a nice place for us to gather for morning meeting each day as well as, whole group during reading and math, and close our day together. The brightly colored squares give each student his/her own personal space while making learning fun and engaging for them while we use the alphabet on the outside of the rug! Thank you again so very much for donating to my project and giving my students a comfy place to learn and grow at school!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Glasgow

  • Love Of Literature

    Funded Jan 5, 2016

Thank you so much for your donation to Love of Literature! You are helping students develop a love of literature and story telling with your gift. Students are able to enjoy listening to stories daily during our center time. Students are excited about books! The students are eager to listen to and read new stories. It is such a joy to watch them gain skills as readers and develop a love of poetry and fairy tales. Words cannot express my gratitude for your generous donation to Love of Literature.”

  • Learning the Basics with Boogie Boards

    Funded Aug 24, 2015

Thank you so much for your generous gift. Your gift has given students the ability to practice basic skills such as practicing writing names, letters/ sounds, and sight words. Students are excited to practice these basic skills using the boogie boards. Using the boogie boards, I am able to target specific student needs and have them practice the skills that they need to learn next. We are using the boogie boards in small groups and as a class. Students are engaged and excited to learn new things. I am so glad that you share my vision for using technology in the classroom.Your generosity is helping students learn, experience success in school, and be ready for a 21st century job!”

  • Teaching with Technology

    Funded Jul 23, 2015

Words cannot express my gratitude for your generous donation of two iPads! I am so glad that you see the value in teaching with technology. My students have been able to use your gifts since the beginning of the school year and it shows! Fifteen of my 17 students have already reached our kindergarten goal of learning all capital, all lowercase letters and all sounds. This BIG goal was reachable because of your generosity. Students have been able to work at their level and have targeted instruction to make sure that they are learning new skills each day! Again, my students and I are so grateful for your generosity and willingness to share my vision for teaching with technology!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Glasgow

This classroom project was brought to life by Orkin and one other donor.
I am so very fortunate to work with the most amazing and joy-filled students. My students are eager to learn and keep me on my toes to find new and creative ways to present the curriculum. I am continually amazed at the growth students make throughout the school year. Most of my students come from very limited literacy/numeracy exposure in the home, so learning at school can be a challenge, but we make great efforts to learn as much a possible in our time together. As a school, we are continually working with students to make short term and long term goals. Students work hard each day to make gains and to meet their set goals. Technology gives students the opportunity to start at their personal skill level and build on their understanding of basic skills. When students are able to work at their own level, the students build confidence and want to challenge themselves to learn as much as possible!
