SEL is COOL in our School!
Funded Sep 8, 2024I am so grateful for your funding my project. This will impact students in 3 classrooms, as I implement SEL learning daily. These are the students who need these skills the most - they are autistic or emotionally disturbed. They need to learn self-regulation to be successful in the world. We are going to journal our way to self-awareness, through self-management, social awareness, by enhancing our relationship-making and by making responsible decisions. Your materials are going to help us do that. Thank you!
I'll let you know how it goes by November! See you soon!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lauren
Clean, Colorful, and Ready to Learn!
Funded Feb 13, 2024Students were given the opportunity to communicate with pictures. They enjoyed their clean room and started to learn to clean up independently.
After they learned to clean up their areas, they were able to enjoy more of the room as well. They learned to transition several times, to work with others, and to communicate when they wanted and didn't want to move.
Additionally, they earned confidence from seeing a clean room that they were proud to be in. The vibrant materials you provided have transformed our classroom into a welcoming and engaging space. It's wonderful to see how excited the students are to come to school each day, surrounded by an environment that reflects their unique talents and interests. Your contribution has not only brightened our room but also uplifted the students' spirits and fostered a sense of pride and enthusiasm for learning.
We are deeply grateful for your kindness and generosity. Your support plays a crucial role in creating a positive and inspiring atmosphere for our students, and it is truly appreciated by everyone here.
Thank you again for your generosity.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lauren
This classroom project was brought to life by Salesforce.Color Me Printed!
Funded Dec 17, 2023This color printer has revolutionized this classroom. Before the color printer, the teachers didn't print anything out. They used the whiteboard for everything. It was very ineffective. The mostly non-verbal students didn't have a way to communicate, so they spent most of the day engaging in self-stimulatory behaviors, or escape-maintained behaviors.
Now, the students have a way to communicate. The teachers are able to print out images of things the children want, so they can use visual schedules. Each student has pictures they use to communicate with adults, and the adults have images that they use to communicate to children. Each child has a token board, a visual schedule, and a first-then board. In addition, they have pictures of their reinforcers, so they are able to request what they want by exchanging a picture image with an adult, instead of grabbing what tehy want, or climbing the cabinets to get what they want.
The students are very excited to communicate. Behaviors have started to decrease because the students have more effective ways to communicate with adults. Adults now see that the children can communicate, and so they are printing more pictures for communcation”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lauren
