  • Supplies to Foster Student Success!!!

    Funded Aug 26, 2014

First and foremost, we wanted to thank you for your contribution to our classroom. The students are so happy and excited to have these materials in our classroom. From the moment I opened the boxes they were so excited to have these new materials Also, the fact that someone cared so much to give these new resources meant more than anything to them.

As soon as the printer was installed, the students were printing out their published pieces of writing, projects and research. The look on their faces when their writing printed out was priceless. Also, the students have been using the text clues kit during center time. They enjoy working with another student, using skills and strategies taught. The math manipulatives and vocabulary cards are very useful during center time as well. It keeps the students extremely engaged and on task.

These resources have impacted us greatly. The students have more pride in their work and a passion for writing. They want the opportunity to print out their writing. Also, it have helped them with projects and researching. The center resources have truly helped them become more independent and skillful during their independent time. This also has shown them how we as citizens help one another. You have taught them that through your generous donation.Thank you once again from the bottom of all our hearts!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rebelo

These wonderful 2nd graders are part of an ICT classroom. There are general and special education students together in the same class. They work together and help one another in their learning. They are in a school where most students come from low economic backgrounds in NYC. 95% of the student body receives free lunch. These students have a love for learning and I want to give them an opportunity to take charge of their education. They come to school everyday wanting to learn more. They love to read, write and ask lots of questions.
