Chapter Books for ALL!

Thank you so much for the book donations! These books have given my students a new look at chapter books. They feel successful because they have been able finish 2 or more of the books with their classmates, which is a huge accomplishment for struggling readers. My students have also been able to apply the skills we have learned, like finding proof in the text (now that everyone has a text) and finding the theme or message of a story.

We are now able to read together so I now have students at their desks ready to read! Some students have also used these books to read together in groups. They have even been excited to go to the library and get more books in the series, like Hate That Cat (sequel to Love That Dog) and others in the Judy Moody series.

Two of my students, Alison and Ashley, are reading Wonder together. They have applied the theme to that book (accept everyone, don't bully) to other books and stories we've read and shared with the other students in the class. This would not have been possible if it weren't for you and these amazing books you donated!”
