Flexible Seating for a Student-Centered Classroom!
Funded Aug 24, 2017Wow! I cannot thank everyone enough for their generosity to our classroom. We received yoga balls, stools, rocker chairs, floor rugs, and clipboards. These items have really enhanced learning in our classroom.
When our items arrived my students were so excited! They were eager to try out each type of seating. They quickly decided which types of seating helped them become the best learner they could. Some students love the movement of the yoga balls and some will choose something more sturdy. I have noticed my students that typically have a difficult time focusing, seem to enjoy the yoga balls.
My friends, family, and community were so generous when they decided to make a donation to my classroom and make this project possible. I plan to continue to use flexible seating in the future. I will continue to look for flexible seating options to add to my classroom.”

Wiggle, Wiggle, Wobble!
Funded May 31, 2016When I set up a donors choose for wiggle stools last year, I didn't realize the positive impact they would actually make in my classroom. This year I have a very active classroom and the stools have made learning some much more active! We are using the stools daily. Students can choose to sit on a wiggle stool at small group, the listening center, and the chrome book center. If stools are still available, students will use them at other centers around the classroom.
The stools arrived at the end of summer, just in time for my new class of 22 kinders. The students were full of questions wondering what the stools were for and when they would get to use them. It was priceless watching my kiddos use the stools for the first time. Many of them sat down, smiled, and wiggled away. I love that my students are able to actively be engaged and still enjoy a little movement.
Right now our classroom has a total of seven wiggle stools. I would absolutely love to be able to get more stools in the future! I think students would love to be able to choose a wiggle stool over a regular classroom chair from time to time.”

A Space For Small Group Learning
Funded Jan 26, 2016Dear Donors:
Thank you so much for your donation to help fund our horseshoe table. We are using the horseshoe table in our classroom daily. We use the table for guided reading, small group instruction, one on one, extra space, and much more. I must say that the table has had such a positive impact on our guided reading. Students are able to come to the table and focus on reading without the distractions. The table has also been nice to work with a small group of students that may be struggling. By using the table, I am able to help multiple students at one time without keeping them waiting.
Our horseshoe table was delivered to the school several weeks before we anticipated it. The students knew that our table had been fully funded and it was coming int he mail, however they were not aware of the size. The students were all so eager and willing to help me rearrange some things in the classroom to make room for the table. Our janitor was able to put the table together one morning before school. When the students finally got to see the table put together they were so excited! I couldn't believe the excitement a table brought. Some of the students wanted to sit at the new table right away.
Even though the school year is coming to an end, we are still using the table daily. Over the next couple weeks of school my students will be creating an end of the year memory book. This table will allow for students to spread out and enjoy some extra space.
I want to say "Thank you" again for the donation. I greatly appreciation your generosity and thoughtfulness. Without your help, we would not be enjoying our new table and work space.”

Mrs. Williamson
