  • Art Across the Curriculum

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

I can hardly wait to surprise my students with the great news. They’re going to be thrilled to hear of the wonderful supplies that will be headed our way, made possible because of your generosity! Implementing art into our everyday curriculum is something that is sure to bring excitement and reinforcement of our core standards.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Trujillo

  • All the Write Materials

    Funded May 10, 2024

My students and I thank you for your generosity and helping us fund this project. The materials in this project allowed us to start the year prepared and ready for success.

Students and their families were delighted to learn they didn't have to purchase many materials on their own. It has always been a huge belief of mine that students should start off with the same materials and this year we were able to do so. Students have happily used their supplies to complete assignments in every subject area, whether it be independently, or as they prefer, with their classmates.

Your generosity has helped us be prepared and organized. A huge thank you from our class family.!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Trujillo

  • A Calm and Safe Space to Reflect on Emotions

    Funded Aug 1, 2024

From day, one, our calming corner has been a space where students are able to sit at and reflect on their emotions. When students visit this calming corner, they are able to select from a variety of tools. Whether it be a book, calming strip, fidget, or even our weighted stuffed animal, you can rest assured that students are enjoying their space and reflecting on their emotions.

After 10 to 15 minutes, students are typically able to join our class on whatever lesson activity we are doing. That time away in our calming corner, really benefits, both a student's emotions and their ability to focus in class.

My students and I thank you for helping to bring this wonderful space in to our classroom.”

  • Encouraging Creativity and Self Expression Through Art

    Funded May 14, 2023

These materials brought about so much excitement and creativity, for both my students and me. We wrapped up the last week of the school year by doing a guided painting project, and then allowed for students to work on a creative piece of their own. Oh, the excitement that filled our classroom!

We always have students who struggle with an academic subject, and sometimes several subjects. Art made it possible for every single students to be successful and have a ton of fun doing so. To hear things like "I love art because every painting is unique" and "You can't make mistakes in art" showed me that every student felt Their art piece was beautiful! My only regret is not beginning art sooner!”

  • An Organized Area Is Key To Success!

    Funded May 1, 2022

Every year I set a personal goal for my classroom. One of the top goals was routines, and along with routines comes organization. I wanted my students to have an area where they could collect assignments and call their own. That is where the organizer came in. It has provided organization by allowing us to have our own personal "mailbox".

The rolling cart has also provided organization when it comes to our writing. I have been able to set it up with the writing materials (pens, markers, and a variety of paper) that they will need as a writer in our classroom..

The materials provided by your generous donations have given our classroom family great organization! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts@”

  • New School Supplies for a Successful Year!

    Funded Jun 17, 2022

The students in my classroom were able to begin the year with all the materials they would need to complete their daily assignments and incorporate some art fun, too! On the first week of school, students and I set up binders with dividers and a pencil pouch. They excitedly prepared materials that they would be able to use both in class and at home. The looks on their faces were priceless when I told them this was made possible by kind donors who wanted success and wonderful experiences for students everywhere. With the materials provided by your donations, we have been able to work on countless art projects as well. We are so grateful for your generosity and support!”

  • A Fun Ending to the School Year

    Funded May 14, 2022

Last school year proved to be a bittersweet one. Students and teachers were thrilled for the opportunity to return to school, yet the worry about health was in existence. We pushed ourselves to be the best learners despite any obstacles we encountered, and that was call for a celebration. There was no better way to end the school year than with some fun and laughter. My students were ecstatic for an afternoon filled with activities such as, frisbee challenges, blowing bubbles, and ankle ball racing. My initial plan was to send this gift home with students, but upon distributing them, the kiddos immediately asked for the opportunity to use them. The smiles and laughter were due to your generosity. A big thank you for your kindness. You are appreciated!”

  • Let's Dive in to a Diverse World of Books!

    Funded Nov 20, 2020

My students and I are beyond grateful for your generosity and for allowing us exposure to so many wonderful books. Your kindness is allowing us to read new stories and within doing so, learn about: different cultures, new characters, struggles people have overcome, and learn about who we are as individuals.

When I first shared the news of having this book funded, I was eager to share the news with my students. They were surprised, excited, and could not wait to listen to the books being read aloud. They know that the read aloud part of our day is one of my absolute favorite. It allows me to step into the shoes of different characters, be silly (or serious), and challenge my students as readers. My students see it as such a fun period of time, that they don't realize just how they're being challenged as readers. They're being challenged to analyze characters, to discuss how they change and what the motivation for this change has been. They're challenged to make connections to themselves or those they know. They're challenged to figure out the author's purpose and message.

Thank you so much for allowing my students and I to explore new titles, and in doing so, have fun and learn about ourselves and the world around us. We will forever be grateful to you for allowing us to find so many books which we will hold close to our hearts.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Trujillo

  • Help Provide Students with the Tools to Support Distance Learning

    Funded Jul 24, 2020

My students and I are beyond grateful for your generosity. Your donations have allowed for all of my students to be prepared with every item that they need in order to get them started on their successful in our classroom. We are using the materials every day in class. From using our whiteboards in our virtual morning meetings, to using notebooks in reading, writing, and math, the students are ready to tackle each task with their new supplies. They love using their art supplies to make beautiful artwork, and love having all of their reading and writing tools in their cool pencil patches. You have brought many smiles to my students, and especially during these times, a smile is worth a thousand words”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Trujillo

The materials requested will allow students to take notes as they read and write about their reading. They will write to multiple writing genres, and will be able to express themselves in written form. Students will use their whiteboards to create and solve problems, and support discussions with their classmates. They will be able to express their ideas and share them with our class during our virtual meetings. By providing materials, such as markers, pencils, rulers, scissors, and more to my students, I hope to provide a sense of comfort and normalcy, and ensure that lack of materials isn't something that impedes their learning.
