My students come from homes where they can not access the new and exciting books I want to purchase. I want to give my students the opportunities to access these best selling books. In turn, I hope this will provide them with the foundation for a life full of literacy. This is my 5th year teaching 5th grade and while I have bought many new books I still am lacking a lot of best selling popular books. My “Harry Potter” books are well-loved (literally falling apart) and my students would be filled with joy to see a brand new set. I can not express the excitement my students would have when they see the choices of a book when they visit our classroom library.
