My students are fourth graders who need to spend a greater amount of time reading non-fiction text now in order to be college and career ready later! Our new Common Core curriculum is asking that students read 50% non-fiction literature. As we grow our non-fiction classroom library, we need to organize it so students can choose titles with ease. Children read more when they are invited to do so and these structures help to entice students into choosing inviting titles that will support their learning and literacy development. Thank you for helping us to organize our non-fiction literature so we will read more of it!
