“Sticking” with my Design Kids!
Funded Nov 13, 2024The supplies that you so generously provided to my classroom allowed students to continue their PLTW design learning!
They applied the resources I. Their "therapeutic toy" design project! They envisioned a solutions for a student with cerebral palsy. It was an amazing project. Kids created a variety of creative toys. Some allowed a student to work on their walking while others assured kids with the use of their arms and wrists.
Experiences one this will not only prepare kids for a career I. Engineering but will fill them with compassion.

Funded Aug 15, 2024I am so excited to be able to utilize "Moe, Larry and Curly" with my students in my PLTW 6th grade tech class! The three Creality Ender 3 printers allow the students to take designs from Tinkercad and actually print them in 3d! It is very motivating for the kids to see their come to life!
As a design and modeling class we will learn about isometric sketching and 3d modeling via tinker asa way to provide them with the ability to communicate designs visually.
Some students are so excited that they spend lunch time learning more about setting them up and trying out new designs.
Thank you allowing me to be able to provide this for some very deserving kids.”

Funded Aug 11, 2024Thank you so much for the access to STEM related supplies for our class projects!
Our first project was the creation of a foot orthosis and the kids were so excited to see the wide availability of supplies to choose from to bring their engineered idea to life! It was a great way to introduce the engineering design cycle for 200 students!
We will continue to utilize the supplies in future work together! Our culminating project will be the design of a therapeutic toy for a needy student.
Thank you so much!”

Keep Us Doing the Robot!
Funded Jan 9, 2020This was incredibly supportive! My students loved learning about robotics and coding via the Sphero bolt robots! They will use the robots to solve learning challenges that will help them grow as computational thinkers. A typical challenge might be a twisty course that they have to code the robot to traverse utilizing code that the write which will direct the robots movement. It is a lot of fun and a wonderful learning experience.
It is so important for them to know people outside of our school care about them and support their learning.
Thank you so much!”

MS Kids 3D Printing PPE Components
Funded Aug 11, 2020Thank you so much for supporting me in getting the media I need to produce mask holders and Face shield parts with students.
I think they will find it empowering to be part of a solution to provide safe and comfortable PPE to their community members.
It's going to be a challenging school year... but I'm a middle school teacher so....we got this. :-)
All the best!”

Funded Sep 25, 2019Thank you so much for allowing us to have access to the Sphero Bolt robots for use at Scofield Magnet MS. They are allowing me to enrich my technology curriculum and have my student engage in more authentic computational thinking tasks. The kids are very excited about the opportunity to use them !
So far, the robots have been utilized by my STEM club, and during student lunch hours, to take on robotic challenges. They are learning to code the robots so they will utilize a program to accomplish a specific task designed by the team. We also created "battle bots' as one of our activities to practice our driving skills!
In the next month I will be rolling out the challenges to all 200 6th graders by incorporating the use of the robots within my curricula to teach the Scratch like coding language and conduct exciting student competitions. We aspire to the #csforall philosophy and expose all of our students to the excitement of coding!”

Funded May 26, 2016Hi Donors!
Cloonan MS, like so many urban schools, is in need of consumable resources in order to deliver a high interest and impact curricula to our needy and deserving students. The resources provided by this donation (Pens and poster board) will allow students to engage in classroom activities and major projects that they otherwise might miss out on. In particular our Advisory program assist kids with their social-emotional learning and art work and displaying their ideas/knowledge is a big part of it. This results in MANY pens and other art supplies being consumed annually as they connect with their peers and develop life long soft skills. While the donation of basic resources may sound trivial it is not to eh hard working staff that often purchase these things out of their own pockets in order to provide high quality experience to their students.
It is much appreciated!”
