  • Let's Start School The Write Way!

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

First off I would love to thank each and every one of you for your support of my classroom this year. Many of you return year after year, project after project, to support my students and it never goes unnoticed. The students can tell we are going out of our way to help them have their best education, and that this classroom, might have a little extra love, thanks to you!

Having basic supplies in the classroom has been great so far. This project was really designed mostly for the step stools, pencils, and papers, which are slightly boring to snap pictures of. However, the real stars of the project were an bonus after add on - that I threw in there just because! These desk top "I can/cannot keep working" self assessment flip charts are AMAZING. They are a quiet way for students to let me now they need me, or don't, and HOW MUCH then need me!! The colors are so helpful and they LOVE THEM! I put them in the chair pockets one day and didn't even tell them they were there, they just found them and started using them on their own and haven't looked back!! So, thank you again for helping to fund this project, and for all that you do! Until the next project...”

  • Why Don't You Cool It... NYS Science Lab Materials!

    Funded Jan 19, 2024

Last year New York State changed the way children "do science." It's been a long time coming, but all the new labs went into effect last year. The materials that were requested are to be used primarily by 7th graders to give exposure to hands on simulations that they might read about on their 8th grade state test.

These materials were to allow students to use their science knowledge of physical and chemical properties to sort unknown containers mixed with 3-4 samples, into single sample piles. The materials requested allow for the students to have enough materials to properly practice. There are even enough materials the 8th graders who weren't able to complete the lab last year due to insufficient lab supplies. So, now the 8th graders are prepared for their test next month, and the 7th graders will have materials to do the labs later this school year! AND because of your genorosity, there will be materials for years to come!

Thank you so much for your help and support!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. DiChiara

    Funded Sep 25, 2023

First off I would love to thank each and every one of you for your support of my classroom this year. Many of you return year after year, project after project, to support my students and it never goes unnoticed. The students can tell we are going out of our way to help them have their best education, and that this classroom, might have a little extra love, thanks to you!

Having books in the classroom has been great so far. We have a dedicated reading portion of our day every day, and maybe students don't have their own independent reading books. So, having a small library has been a great way to get science books into their hands, have them reading, and have them learning some fun information as well! So, thank you again for all that you do! Until the next project...”

Having portfolio folders has been great. Last school year I was able to organize and provide the folders for two grades and children, and I STILL have enough for the children to receive them again this year!! Thank you so much for aiding in our science portfolios, that will follow them through their middle school careers!”

The students can tell we are going out of our way to help them have their best education, and that this classroom, might have a little extra love, thanks to you!

Last year I tried to make water bottle holders and it was an epic fail; this year I opted to upgrade and go with bottle holders for a bicycle and it's been FANTASTIC! the students love not having their bottles on the floor, and love that they are so close to the desk without being on the desk! That's just one of the new items from these supplies, but they are loving everything, so thank you again!! Until the next project...”

Having basic supplies in the classroom has been great so far. You really don't realize how many times students ask to go to the nurse for a bandaid, until you show them where they can get bandaids without asking! I think I was getting "interrupted" 3-4x a class, 5classes a day for bandaids! So, thank you again for all that you do! Until the next project...”

  • Cell Phones Are to Be Under Lock & Key

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

We are so thankful for our cell phone lock box! Students were really upset when the school changed our cell phone policy to being locked up. They were even more concerned when we were expected to put them in a bin and not really "locked up"

That being said, another teacher had the idea to get lock boxes, and so, that's what I did, with your help!! The students are way more willing to hand over their devices and keep them safely stored now that they know they can be locked safely away! There have been ZERO students breaking our policy since we have gotten our box. SO, again thank you so very much for your support!!”

Hello to all those who want to make Science EXPLOSIVE!! I am a teacher in NY who desperately needs your help! I teach middle school science and I have for 7 years. We are located in a low-income area and have difficulty getting supplies for a classroom. This is a new school, trying to build a reputation for excellence, which is hard to do with limited resources. I have about 100 students, all of whom want to learn and excel in school, but are having difficulty doing so. We would love any help you can give!
