Empowering Young Readers through Decodable Texts and Engaging Literacy Centers
Funded Dec 31, 2024On behalf of my first-grade students, I want to express our deepest gratitude for your generous donation of literacy supplies. Your support means the world to us and is already making a significant impact on our classroom.
Thanks to your kindness, my students now have access to resources that will help them build strong reading skills from the very beginning of their learning journey. The decodable readers, in particular, are an invaluable tool in helping them decode words and gain confidence in their abilities.
Thank you again for your generosity. Your investment in our classroom is truly making a difference, and we are so grateful for your support in fostering a love for reading and learning in these young minds.”

Funded May 25, 2024I am writing to express our deepest gratitude for your generous donations to our first-grade classroom's planting and science projects. Your contributions have provided our young students with invaluable hands-on learning experiences that they will carry with them throughout their educational journey. Thanks to your support, we now have a variety of plants that the children are nurturing and observing daily. This direct engagement with nature not only enhances their understanding of biology and ecology but also instills a sense of responsibility and care for the environment.
Additionally, your donations have enabled us to acquire essential science materials and resources that have significantly enriched our curriculum. The students are now able to conduct experiments, explore scientific concepts, and develop critical thinking skills in a more interactive and engaging manner. Seeing the excitement and curiosity on their faces as they make new discoveries is truly heartwarming. Your generosity has made a profound impact on their learning experience, and we are incredibly thankful for your support.”

Funded Oct 24, 2023Thank you for your thoughtful contribution to our classroom. The chairs and stools you have provided enhanced the comfort of our students during their lessons but also contributed to creating a conducive and engaging atmosphere in the classroom. The students were so excited to have these additional seating options. They love not having to drag their chairs across the classroom when they come to groups.
Your donation has helped us create a comfortable and supportive learning environment that is essential for the academic and social development of our students, especially at such a foundational stage in their education. This donation will undoubtedly make a significant difference in the daily lives of our first-grade students, allowing them to focus better and participate actively in their learning activities.”

Piggie and Gerald Meet First Grade!
Funded May 5, 2022Thank you so much for donating these Mo Willems books to our classroom. The piggie and Gerald series are perfect for my first graders who are beginning to develop their love for reading. These books are the first "big kid" books that students can read. It is always a treat to watch the students open the book and slowly begin to read. Then their eyes light up when they realize that they are really reading. I always have requests from students asking if they can add the books to book bags and even bring the books home to read to a family member. With this additional supply, I am now able to grant many more of those requests. Thank you again for your generosity!”

Funded Aug 18, 2021Thank you so much for the generous donation to our classroom. I have to say that this printer donation has hands down been the most useful donation we have ever received. Not only have I used it daily in my classroom but I have been able to support other colleagues and classrooms as well. In these unprecedented times, there has been a severe lack of toner as well as copy paper in our school building. With the donated printer I have been able to print necessary materials that I would not have been able to if I was relying on our building printer.
One of my most favorite ways that I have been able to use the printer in my classroom is to display student work. My first grade students are still getting used to technology and completing work on various web sites. We love being able to display their hard work by printing it out and adding it to our "wow" wall.
Thank you again for the very generous donation!”

Funded May 4, 2021We had lots of needs this year in our first grade classroom. When we started back with our in person learning it became very clear that we needed more recess activities. Students were not able to participate in their typical recess activities due to covid restrictions. The stepping stones made for a great recess obstacle choice. It was a favorite by far. The skip it toys were challenging for them but they were mastered by the end of the year. I even had parents looking to purchase their own for the summer.
Students also enjoyed the planting activities that were donated. It made for a great science lesson that added some life to online learning.
Thank you again for the generous donation and for helping my students have a successful, socially distant first grade year!”

Funded Apr 23, 2021Thank you so much for the donation of headphones to our first grade classroom. This year we had our roomies and our zoomies. This means that some students had in person learning while others were learning online. All students were provided with the headphones so we could interact with one another. While it was challenging to say the least, we may made it work thanks to your donation of headphones. By the end of the year students were zoom professionals. We navigated break out rooms and whole class zoom activities with ease.
Thank you again for helping my students have a successful, socially distant first grade year.”
