Young Minds, Strong Feelings!
Funded Sep 29, 2022I find it impossible to articulate the feeling of gratitude that I feel towards you for helping me meet the needs of my students. My students have been given the resources they need to obtain the skills that many learn often at a later age. They are learning the skills needed to cope and thrive in an increasingly stressful world. Because of you, they are learning how to be present and focus on what they can control. Because of you, they are learning to manage their emotions not by suppressing them, but by acknowledging them and finding space to work through them.
My students dreamed of a space where they could manage their emotions in a safe way and I wanted to do everything I could to make these dreamers see that through.
With the materials received, they can put the skills learned to practice in a safe space that is all their own.
It was impossible not to cry when they saw the materials for the first time, they were simply blown away. Creating a space for them that was their own was a tall order but because of you, it is now a reality. The memory of that moment will forever be etched in my mind and I'm sure the thought of knowing that someone cares about their well-being will be carried with them as they grow and mature.
My young students are learning to manage their emotions and the stressors faced daily thanks to your generous donation.”

Funded Sep 29, 2022How do you explain the gratitude that I feel knowing that my students have been given the resources needed to assist them in gaining the skills necessary to function in an increasingly stressful world. Because of you, they are learning how to be present and focus on what they can control. Because of you, they are learning to manage their emotions not by suppressing them, but by acknowledging them and finding space to work through them.
My students longed for a space where they could manage their emotions in a safe way.
With the materials received, I knew that they would use them to thrive. " Wow", was heard around the room as they entered and the smiles on their faces will forever be etched in my memory.
They use the items on a daily basis and lean on the materials for support when they need them whether it is time needed to drain off strong emotions or to sit with those feelings. These young students are learning to manage their emotions and the stressors faced daily thanks to your generous donation.”

This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Classroom Supporter.Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover!
Funded Jul 7, 2017The students could not contain their excitement as they assisted me in unboxing the donated books. With every item they took out of the box, they stopped to read the title and guessed what the main idea of the book would be. Some students even stopped with the unboxing and began reading immediately in the reading corner.
The donated books have helped my counseling program to address the needs of the larger school community as the donated books cover a variety of topics including bullying, grief and social skills. I am overjoyed that my students have these books readily available to them as they face each day.”

Students Today, Leaders Tomorrow!
Funded Oct 7, 2015I am beyond excited to express my gratitude to all of you for your donation to my project. As a school counselor, I have the opportunity to engage students in activities that build their social and leadership skills. My students now have the opportunity to be in a room that is warm and inviting and provides them the opportunity to have resources available to them that they enjoy.
It goes beyond saying that the puppets and the bean bags have brought them the most pleasure. I usually have to assign the bean bags because they fight over who gets to sit on them. During our safety patrol meetings, students use the books to relate to topics of interest and they also enjoy independent reading. Thanks to your donation, they have a sense of pride in their shared space and opportunities to feel cared for by each other as well as yourself.
Again, I thank you.”

Encouraging Students to Dream the Impossible Dream!
Funded May 6, 2014Our students were extremely excited to receive this gift on graduation day. They did not know what to expect, but were glad to learn that they were each receiving a copy of this book, and smiled and awed as they were presented the books, each with their names attached. One student added, "Now I can share the book with my little sister." It contains a message that we hope she will also carry with her for a long time.
Our students each received an individual copy of the book shortly after graduation to reinforce the message that they are capable of achieving their dreams despite everyday challenges they may face. I cannot think of a better message to learn at such a very young age.
This project, thanks to your generous donation, has given our students the gift of reading. Some students aren't lucky enough to have books at home, and this book is a great way to spread the message that it is important to read but that through reading and education, oh the places you will go.”

Peacemakers at Work
Funded Sep 16, 2008Thank you so very much for choosing to sponsor our project. The school year has just begun and the kids are excited to get started with the mediation process. I cannot wait to see the look on their faces when they open the boxes and see these items that would make their room inviting and validate the hard work that they are doing. Again, thank you. We are so very grateful to have been chosen”
