  • Rest, Refresh, and Learn Some More!

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

I am very grateful for your generous donation to my classroom and entire school! We are thrilled that we will be able to help our little learners be clean, comfortable, healthy, and ready to learn! Thank you for helping to make that possible! I am excited and relieved to be able to help my students tay healthy!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Peters

  • All Kinds of Friends Learn Together

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

My students were excited to receive the materials your funding so generously made possible! They gathered around the boxes and watched as I opened them. I heard laughing and lots of "I want one!" when I pulled out the sensory toys and emotions books. The children explored each item and readily shared with their friends.

We use these special toys and books whenever the children come together for our group meetings, to listen to the morning news and announcements, during transition times, an any time an individual student needs some quiet time to process "big emotions."

We will continue to use these materials throughout the year. The children are learning and maturing. They are developing good listening skills and learning to process their feelings in healthy ways. I look forward to using the materials with future classes as well.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Peters

  • STEM Stories

    Funded Nov 5, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting our young learners. They are going to enjoy exploring and learning together using the new STEM Stories! The kits will be a great resource that combines the children's love of books with science, technology, engineering, and math concepts. We appreciate your generous donation.”

  • Healthy Happy Teddy Bears

    Funded Sep 26, 2022

I am very grateful for the funding of my project, Healthy Happy Teddy Bears, because the items I requested will allow us to care for our special needs children in a safe, sanitary, way. This in turn will make our classroom more comfortable for all of the children we serve. The materials will also allow the adults in the classroom to attend to children's needs in a way that ensures our own health and safety as well. Thank you so much for making this possible!”

  • We are Alike but Different and We are All Ok!

    Funded Aug 25, 2021

Thank you for your donations to my project, "We are All Alike but Different and We are All Ok!" The books I received were added to our classroom library. I enjoyed reading them to the children and they certainly enjoyed hearing them.

In addition to listening to the stories, the children loved seeing people who represented their ethnicities, cultures, and heritages, as well as those of friends and classmates.

They learned about the impact that others have had on our world. They had a better understanding of the reasons why we celebrate Black History Month as we used some of the books from this new collection to study contributions of Black inventors, scientists, artists, and performers. The children used their knowledge at home as they created Black History Month posters with their families.

The children developed empathy for English language learners in our class and were eager to help them understand lessons. They learned to respect one another as they explored similarities and differences. The children left my classroom this year with an understanding and appreciation for those differences and similarities.”

    With gratitude,

  • Storage for Fun Fitness Equipment

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

I am very grateful for your generous funding of this project. The materials I requested were not available during the supply chain disruption. However I was able to amend my Donors Choose request and finally received the new materials a few months later.

I was happy to receive hardware that allowed the teachers in my building to have our projectors mounted from the ceiling. This freed up valuable space that was being used for our projector carts in front of our Smart boards. We were then able to have all the children move freely and more safely as we did all kinds of brain break and physical activities on days when getting outside was not possible due to the weather.

The children loved having all the extra space! They were excited to show off their moves as we exercised and danced together.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Peters

All of our "Teddy Bears" need to have fun exploring and playing outside in the fresh air. We want to make sure our children grow strong and healthy. Ensuring their health, fitness, and social-emotional well-being is just as important to us as teaching the academic skills that will set them up for success. In fact, we believe that healthy, well adjusted children learn better. When children are physically healthy, they are able to learn better in school. All of our classes were fortunate to receive new playground toys (such as balls, jump ropes, Hula Hoops, etc.) in the spring. We need these locking storage boxes to keep our wonderful new toys clean and easily accessible.
