My students are kids that are extremely curious and eager to learn. They walk into class every morning with a smile on their face and a hug ready to give. The population of my school is mostly African- American or Hispanic. Most of them receive free or reduced lunch. They come from low income families. They come to me to learn more about the Spanish language and they are so hungry to learn but most of them give up fast as they get into the class as there is nothing to inspire them to continue on. I want them to be inspired by reading. They will read about thing that they can relate too and see that they are not alone in the world. That people go to the same thing they go truth. I want them to feel inspire to learn more by opening their eyes to reading and yes in the Spanish language. This will make them want to learn more. Make a reader make a learner for life.
