My students can be highly distracted. Headphones are needed in order to keep them focused on assignments at their seats during independent work. They will be able to focus on assignments because sounds from the computer will not distract them and it will build a calm working environment during language arts. Headphones will allow my second language learners the ability to listen to stories and practice language skills that will aid in their development of the English language. Time for Kids will allow students to be exposed to current events at their reading level. It will give them the opportunity to experience reading a magazine type publication and understanding how it is written.
