Full-Spectrum Science
Funded Nov 13, 2024Thank you so much for your generous gift of a color printer to our science classroom. We are thrilled to start working with this new resource. Being able to print in color is such an asset to our learners. Being able to print learning resources such as graphs, maps and charts in color introduces an additional level of detail and improves student engagement.
As we near the end of the school year, middle school students will be working on research projects and creating posters to present to their school community. Color images will give students even more opportunity to share their learning through posters and displays.
Thank you again for thinking of us!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Rudd

Funded Jul 9, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donation of headphones and storage pouches to our middle school science classroom! The students love having their own personal set of colorful headphones to use with their online learning activities.
This resource has been especially helpful to our scholars who benefit from the text-to-speech features, which helps them access more rigorous content and learn how to pronounce unfamiliar vocabulary. Additionally, the headphones have been a great advantage to those students who are working a slightly different pace than the rest of the class; it prevents distractions and sensory overload that can result from multiple auditory inputs.
Thank you for thinking of our classroom, I hope you know how much your gift has enriched our learning experience!”

3D DNA, Dinosaurs and Deuterium!
Funded Nov 16, 2013Thank you all for your generous donations that have provided my students with access to the MakerBot 3D printer! The students were so excited to try out the new printer, and were equally amazed with the products we created. Since the printer arrived in our classroom, the students have been constantly deliberating as to what we should create to best complement each new unit of study. Their most recent idea: creating fossils to organize into a 3-dimensional timeline of the Cambrian period. Thank you for supporting our classroom, and for making these experiences possible.”

Funded Nov 8, 2013Thank you all for your generous donation of a classroom set of Chromebook computers to our school. My students have been using them almost daily since they arrived in our classroom. They have been using these computers for research, interactive science experiments, writing and editing, browsing scientific literature, English translation, and for collaborating on projects with myself and their peers. The students are incredibly grateful to have access to this technology that makes their class work even more engaging. These laptops have changed the way my students and I work together in the classroom.
Thank you again for supporting our classroom!”

School Stinks Without Printer Ink
Funded May 20, 2013Thank you all for your generous donation to my classroom! It is such a relief to be able to print documents as needed for my students again. My ability to create handouts for a variety of skill levels and in alternative languages has given my students the support they need to succeed in science.
One of the best things about being able to print information on-demand is that I can provide current and exciting news articles that keep the curriculum engaging and get kids excited to share their new knowledge with their peers and families. Printer ink seems like such a simple and mundane material, but the ability to share interesting and up-to-date information with my students has increased their interest in science. Your gift has provoked outstanding classroom discussions and given these kids the opportunity to inform others about fascinating topics such as the approach of a comet this month and newly discovered species.
Thank you, again!”

Science: There's An App For That!
Funded May 22, 2012Thank you all for your generous donation of an iPad to our classroom. The students are already utilizing the technology to explore science topics, conduct research, and enhance their classroom experiences.
The iPad's interactive and kinesthetic qualities are especially appealing to my special needs students, and my English language learners are making great use of it for on-demand translation assistance. My students are so creative and technologically savvy that they have figured out ways to implement this tool into lessons and experiments that I hadn't previously considered!
Thank you again from all of us!”

Funded Apr 14, 2012Thank you again for your generous donation of three oscillating fans to my classroom! Last week we had a heat wave, with temperatures reaching 98 degrees in the afternoon. Thankfully, we had your fans to keep us cool. Because of the fans, the students were more comfortable and therefore able to remain focused on their final reports for their science projects. The school year ended yesterday, but we packed up the fans in a safe place so that we can use them again when we return in September. Thank you all so much! ”

Funded May 4, 2011Thank you so very much for your generous gift to our classroom. The skull models are amazing and the students love them! The opportunity to examine and touch the models is so valuable in helping the students understand the anatomical differences and similarities between humans, early hominids and apes. Since their initial examination of the models they are so eager to begin the unit of study on evolution and adaptation. Your generosity means so much to us, and we all thank you for donations.

Funded Sep 10, 2010Thank you all for donating the wonderful and useful gift of a laminator to our classroom! The students have been using the equipment for so many projects, both for my science and across the curriculum. The kids have been having a fantastic (plastic) time choosing their best products, editing them to make them absolutely perfect, then carefully sealing it in plastic to be proudly displayed around the classroom and hallways. We are all so appreciative for your kindness to our learning community. Your gift is allowing the kids a chance to preserve and present their hard work to their classmates and teachers, and to take pride in all they do.
Thank you again!”

One Thousand Pictures are worth One Million Words
Funded Dec 18, 2009Thank you so much for your donations to my project. Thanks to your generous support, my students are already creating amazing Exit Projects. They are so excited to document their experiments so they can print out and share the photos! The photo printer is wonderful, so easy to use and such an amazing resource for myself and the kids.
We would also like to express gratitude for not only your monetary and material gift, but for the one that was less tangible: the inspiration and hope that comes with experiencing the kindness of strangers. Your donation has impressed upon my students the importance of investing in education and giving back to the community. I hope that in the future, they recall your generosity and pass it on.
Thank you again for working with DonorsChoose to help students and teachers succeed.”
