  • Microbits Equal Big Learning

    Funded Oct 23, 2024

Thank you very much for supporting my classes by providing them with access to micro:bits. These are a fun tool that allows the students the ability to program a small processor and then move around the room to interact with others.

We were able to program our micro:bits to listen to others and pick up a radio signal to decode a message. These small machines are filled with endless possibilities.

We are currently working on incorporating the micro:bits into our Hummingbird kits to make robots and other interactive creations.”

  • The Heat is On, Let's Draw!

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

Your donation has greatly impacted the learning of my students. They love to be creative and enjoy using the 3-D Pens for creating their own unique items.

It has helped them to advance their skills in thinking in 3-D and figuring out how to put things together so that it most structurally sound. We are able to use the new pens to take our engineering to a whole new level.

With the new pens it allows all the students in my classes the opportunity to be creative without having to wait for someone else to be finished. It's such a great sight having them all learning at the same time.”

  • Getting Crafty in STEaM

    Funded May 10, 2024

The supplies that were purchased for my class have come in handy for many of our new projects. The ability to do projects that all the students to be creative and inventive is a great asset to their learning.

We have only just begun to use the supplies to let our STEM creativity flow. One project the students used the fabric squares to make small fabric boxes. Another project allowed the kids to use the new sharper scissors to cut fabric to make their own creations on the sewing machine. The students have been working on a building project using the hot glue guns and construction paper.

Having the supplies allow for a broader range of things we can do without the restrictions of how are we going to do it.”

  • Sew Much Learning

    Funded Jan 17, 2024

My students have had so much fun learning new sewing skills with our Singer sewing machine. The new machine has afforded the students the ability to learn a new skill that most would otherwise never have access to at home.

Our first project was an apron that we made to keep our clothes clean while doing a fabric tie dying project. We then worked on creating some stuffed dinosaurs and cats as part of our skills for sewing non-straight patterns.

This new machine and the supplies provided for this project are a great addition to our STEM classroom.”

  • Robots Bit by Bit

    Funded Nov 17, 2023

My students have really enjoyed the Hummingbird robotics kits. The kits have allowed them to take our computer programming and hardware skills to the next level. The class created dancing robots that start dancing when they hear noise.

These kits are a great asset to our classroom as they offer the students the ability to be creative while learning and reinforcing skills in STEM. The kits also allow the students to expand upon the skills they have honed in computer programming and see their programs come to life.”

  • Getting STEMy With It!

    Funded Oct 30, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom projects. The students have enjoyed learning with all the resources that you have supplied for us to keep our learning in STEM fun and exciting. Their favorite tools are the marble runs, and the marbles that allow them to create their own mazes with our classroom Legos.

We are currently working on our DNA and light units. They have been able to use the beads to model strands of DNA. The first graders have been able to use the prisms to make rainbows and the UV beads to help them detect the light we cannot see from the sun.

These small bits of STEM supplies have been able to contribute to the learning of over 200 students in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade. Thank you for your continued support.”

  • Print All About It!

    Funded Aug 22, 2023

The impact of your donation has been nothing short of extraordinary. The introduction of these 3-D pens has had a great impact on the way my students engage with their creativity and problem-solving skills. The pens have become a catalyst for inspiration and innovation, allowing our young learners to bring their ideas to life in three-dimensional forms.

While the students have had experience using a form of 3D pen in our classroom, these pens and filaments allowed them to take their creativity to another level. The vast array of colors and the high heat allowed the students to really pull their images off of the page and really get the concepts of 3D construction from the ground up.

Once again, we extend our sincerest thanks to you for your generosity and commitment to fostering a love for STEM education in my school. Your donation has made a lasting impact on my students' lives, empowering them to dream big and embrace their potential.”

  • 3Doodle What You Learn

    Funded Aug 18, 2022

The 3-d pens have helped my students show more of their creativity in my STEM class by bringing the 2-d images off of the page. We were able to bring our endangered animal study to life using the 3-d pens to create models of the different animals researched.

Thank you very much for giving us the supplies we needed for this and many more projects. Having the right tools makes all the difference when it comes to learning. Not only have the students learned new 21st century skills, they have learned to express their creativity in a whole new way.”

The students in my school are from a broad range of socioeconomic backgrounds. Most are eager to learn and try new things especially when they get to express their own creativity. When given a task such as Scratch Programming, they would rather make the assignment do more than was given to them. They enjoy working together and really have a sense of community while in the classroom. Our school strives to meet the demands of 21st century learners by providing our students with engaging access to learning through and with technology. We provide many after school activities free of charge such as technology, media, robotics, and SEMMA.
