In order to increase family engagement and encourage a love of literacy, our school is hosting a winter themed literacy night for our entire school. There will be different stations with interactive activities families will participate in together that they can replicate at home to support their scholars' literacy development. The activities will also include take home materials such as question stems, reading journals and parent friendly versions of state standards so families are better equipped to support their students at home. We want each family to be able to leave this event with a book to keep. Since this event is happening right before winter break, we hope they can use their new book as well as the materials and experiences gained through the night's activities to engage their scholars during the break.
