  • Why Not Another Whiteboard

    Funded Nov 18, 2022

This project has had such an amazing impact on my (our) cotaught classroom. With having two teachers this year we have worjed very hard to make sure everything in this room is as parallel as possible. With that being said we had a huge need for an additional whiteboard in the back of the room.

Since having the board we have been so successful in offering 2 small groups instruction at the same time and being able to have work projected. This opportunity allows students the chance to write directly on the board as part of their instruction.

We have also appreciated having two different boards so that we can project two different things at the same time. This allows children to use more resources according to their needs. We can project differentiated work so that all students have access to curriculum at their level.

We are so appreciative to all of you for making this possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Plump

  • Being Flexible As Students Learn

    Funded Dec 13, 2018

I am so thankful for your generosity. The children are enjoying all of the seating options they now have available to them. They are very responsible and look comfortable as well. It's great to see that they have choices as to where they sit when they work. The children are always excited to sit and work with friends knowing they get to use a new seating option. I love that they have more options than their desk and chair or on the rug. Because you cared enough to support our classroom the children are now having more responsibility as they learn.”

  • iPads In School

    Funded Nov 3, 2015

I can't thank you all enough for your generous donations that helped get 2 iPads and cases for my classroom. The children have been very excited and eager to use this new technology in the room. We have an organized and fair system set up and the children have enjoyed using the ipads to practice reading on Raz-Kids where they can be read to while listening, read a book, and take quizzes after. They also enjoy using Reflex math to practice math facts as well! I love their enthusiasm and excitement and it's thanks to all of you who cared enough to help out my class. The children and myself thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Be happy knowing that you put smiles on many faces!”

  • Getting Creative With Technology in Our Room

    Funded Mar 1, 2015

I can't begin to describe how amazing it has been having the document camera in our classroom. The children and I use it everyday and multiple times during the day. We use it for math to show how to solve problems with manipulatives. We use it in math when doing worksheets or tests so that everyone can follow along. We use it to show student and teacher work samples during writing. The children LOVE showing their work using the document camera. We also use the document camera to look for writing ideas and clues in various books. The possibilities are endless! The document camera is amazing and I can't imagine not having it! Thank you so much for helping us get it!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Plump

  • Teach It Up With Technology!

    Funded Apr 17, 2014

Having the IPAD mini over the past few weeks has been amazing and exciting. I am so grateful for your donations as well as the children. We have had a fun time using it in the class and it has been so helpful to everyone.

We have found a successful way to use the IPAD in a fair method and each child looks forward to using it. I have downloaded some books to listen to read during Daily 5 and DEAR time. I plan on buying more books to add to the collection.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed the learning apps and I am constantly looking for new ones. I love how they have learned to use them on their own. I also have an amazing app that allows me to aid in learning with the use of a projector and a laptop. This has made learning easier for the visual learners. I am very excited to have a colleague share and teach me this---thanks Ms. Michalak.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Plump

I teach in a high poverty school where supplies and new technology are limited. My students are very motivated and excited to learn new things on a daily basis. Having limited technology limits the amount I can differentiate and meet all student needs. Having an inclusion classroom makes our need for technology more urgent.
