The nightmare continues—or will in September. Will we be in school? Will we be remote? Who knows? NYC says in school, but the reality is that the future is unknown. Remote learning rolled out with nothing but problems and most of them have not been fixed. So who suffers? Parents are at their wits' end. Teachers are cheered one day and reviled the next. But my students are the ones with the most to lose. I am confident my students will rise to the occasion and overcome all obstacles they encounter. They are strong, eager and committed to learning. Every one of my kids needs his or her own device. I need these Thinkpads to CLOSE the digital divide. If school is in person, my kids will still spend several days a week at home. They will need to be able to meet with me at a specific time on these days. That will be even more crucial if we go fully remote. I will not allow my students' education to be victims of this pandemic. When I have my class in front of me, I am a mere hand raise away. Now, we are not only separated physically but also separated because of the digital divide. These Thinkpads will provide direct access to all of my lesson plans, curriculum, textbooks, novels but most of all to each other. Most of the schools Thinkpads were sent home withthe students in March. We need these resources in our classroom. We need your help to make this a reality.
