Past projects 3
Dream, Plan, Do
Funded Oct 2, 2011Thank you for your generous donations! I'm absolutely thrilled to see that the project has been funded, and I can't wait to tell the kids tomorrow.
Before we know it, these students will be improving the community and changing the world. The kids have been refining their ideas since the beginning of the school year, and they're ready to start their projects as soon as the materials arrive.
Budgets are being cut everywhere, but thanks to the kindness of people like you, these wonderful students have one more opportunity to learn and create. Thank you for your support!”

Dictionaries for Everyone!
Funded Sep 30, 2009Thank you for your generous donation! My students use their dictionaries frequently, and their vocabulary has seen significant growth this year.
As you can see from the photographs, we are reading To Kill a Mockingbird. The novel is a challenge because of its advanced vocabulary, but the dictionaries have provided a safety net that helps students feel confident in their ability to tackle unknown words.
Your gift has also sparked my students' curiosity for new words. I often see students looking up words that they know in order to find other words that share the same roots. We will occasionally have informal competitions to see who can find the most interesting word, or who can find the most words the teachers cannot define. Before, there was gentle teasing when a student read the dictionary "just for fun;" now, it's a course of habit for most of my kids!
Again, thank you for your generosity!”

The Ears Have It!
Funded Dec 9, 2008Thank you for your donation! Because of your generosity, my class can improve their technology skills and knowledge in every content area. We'll start the first big project right after the winter break; the students will be practicing their typing, word processing, and movie-making skills as they put together presentations for Science class. Of course, they will continue with a wide variety of projects throughout the rest of the year.
In this time of financial difficulty, education budget cuts, and increasing frustration, our school community truly appreciates your donation”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Westman
