My students, or kiddos as I like to call them, are among the strongest individuals that I will ever have the pleasure of meeting. My students encounter obstacles that many adults will never have to handle. They come to school cold, tired, hungry, sad and sometimes even hurt, but they come to school ready to learn. Their thirst for knowledge makes getting up in the morning to go to work worth it each and every day. Their smiles and laughter during my lesson ensures me that I am in the right place doing what I love. My students are incredibly trusting and caring and are always willing to take academic risks to make themselves better. At a young age these children are already aware that life is not fair and they should not learn to expect the best because of where they are from. I seek to change that by giving them an education equal to that of their more affluent peers. I seek to give them the very best because they deserve the very best.
