  • STEM Masterpieces

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for the wood and acrylic donations. Your gifts have given the students opportunities to create the unique ideas they imagine.

We could never have opportunities like this with donations from people like you. Having a variety of mediums for the students to use like acrylic sheets in various sizes and wood sheets 1/8 in thickness is a wonderful and unique gift. The students appreciate the opportunity to create with wood and acrylics.-We are so grateful for your generosity.

Thank you for making dreams come to life.”

  • Full STEAM Ahead

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Wow! What fun the students have had with their Coding, building and problem solving opportunities! Thank you so much for providing the LEGO Coding Express and LEGO STEAM Park for our young students. They adore coding the train so that it moves on the track. When it moves for the first time, it's simply magical to see their faces light up as they realize their role in that movement. With LEGO Steam park, students work together to build an amusement park. There are many different rides they can create and imaginative play with the included characters and their amusement park attractions.

This experience and opportunity would never be possible without help from generous donors like you. Thank you so much for your ongoing support of our students. We appreciate you.”

  • We Are Multicultural Musicians

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you for your donations that purchased drum sets for our students. Seeing their faces when they saw the drums was priceless! Watching them as they played was simply magical. They kept the steady beat and played along with their teacher.

Sharing cultures and music styles is such a gift to students. Thank you for making this possible for us. Without your support, experiences like this would not be possible for our students.

Your gift infused our day with music, laughter and wonderful memories. And it's not over! These drums will continue to be a part of our curriculum and our classroom experiences. So many children for years to come will benefit from your gift.

    Thank you so much!”

  • Fireflies Forever

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you making it possible for us to create mementos for our 5th grade students. As they graduated they were handed a gift made by our school and donated by you. The younger students created cards and shared inspirational thoughts that could be carried with our 5th grade students into middle school. Some quoted famous people others spoke from their hearts.

Our school mascot is the firefly. Our goals was to send our fireflies out into the world to glow big. Thanks to your donation, we were able to create embedded acrylic fireflies that hang on a stand and will be a forever reminder that they are all forever fireflies.

    Thank you!”

  • Dream It, Solve It, Build It

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Can you imagine seeing children build a stem amusement park? How about using tools to build moving vehicles? That was just in my imagination until you came along and made a generous donation to DonorsChoose. Now that dream is a reality.

Students are building vehicles and take pride in using screwdrivers to connect their parts. I'm super thrilled that the screws are attached inside the parts so that there are no small parts to lose or become a hazard. Students are excited that they can "build" rides, trucks and cars with their special LEGO sets.

All of this is thanks to you! Thank you for supporting our students and our classroom.”

  • Roll on to Success

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so very much for supporting our classroom by providing wheels for our tables. This has been such a tremendous help to both our students and myself. It's very cumbersome to move tables around but now with the wheels, it's so easy!

We can move tables together to create collaborative spaces. We move them apart so that student teams can work a bit more privately. We constantly reconfigure the classroom keeping our space relevant and efficient. Thank you.

The students enjoy rolling the tables to new locations and they look forward to coming into the classroom to see what's new or rearranged. Thank you for making all of this possible for our students.”

  • Teachers Helping Teachers

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Wow, what an amazing opportunity my students have experienced, thanks to you. We purchased some classroom mystery lessons that I co-taught with our Media Specialist. We hid clues around the room, color coded to match the colors of the student teams. The students used their devices to hear and see clues. The teams were given a set of questions and the answers were hidden on cards around the room. Together we analyzed the information and created charts with suspects and their characteristics. The students then had to work collaboratively to solve the crime? They used their inferring and reading for details skills combined with notetaking and evaluating information for it's relevance.

Some student who initially are uninterested in anything academic, changed their minds as they ran around looking for clues. In the end, we not only discovered who committed the crime, we had solid evidence to prove the guilt and innocence of each suspect. The students could hardly wait to get the next clue. It was wonderful to see each one engaging with the content, working hard and working together. This was such a fun way to challenge our literacy skills.

This was just one of the many activities we are now planning thanks to your generosity. There are so many brilliant minds both in our classroom and in our teaching profession. It's wonderful to have the opportunity to try new experiences created by other teachers with our students. Thank you.”

Our elementary students are faced with many challenges this year, in a wide variety of home situations as they learn virtually to keep our community healthy. Being engaged while distant from friends and their academic leaders will be difficult. Our plan is to do more than simply engage our students; we want to activate their imaginations and show them the potential within each of them. To that end, the students will be designing and building useful objects and explaining how their object will be used and benefit our society. They will need to measure materials, calculate angles and consider how best to conserve our limited resources. They will work in teams, document their designs, build, test and redesign their products. They will share their ideas with business representatives from our community to get feedback and make improvements. When the finished product is produced they will write an explanation of the process used in their project creation and it's intended use. The final product will an description of their processes, a video demonstration of how their creation is used and the the benefit of their product. Some items we are planning and preparing to build: clocks, educational games, robots, boxes, and unknown items of the students' creation to improve lives. We need nails, nuts and bolts, plus tools to complete the kits for our students. My students absolutely love hands-on, creative and engaging projects that challenge them and help them to see the value and use of their math and literacy skills. They work together to include our total population. Let’s work together to give them the resource to get the designs in their minds onto paper and into their hands
