Students will be using the Big Beanbag Seats and The Reading Pillows as cozy spots during readers workshop. When the children are relaxed, they can focus better at the task at hand. During our hour long reading block children are assigned a "spot" where they are to read and build comprehension skills. Taking a pillow or carpet square makes it 'cozy" for them, they can lay down, put their feet up and stretch out. The books will also be used to stock up our classroom library. Requested titles include Guided Reading Fiction book sets (Levels J and K), and copies of Roller Coaster, the Fly Guy series, Horrible Harry and the Green Slime, Wake Up, Sun!, My New Boy, Mr. Noisy, Where Are You Going?, and Is it Alive? Students have book baskets filled with "just right" books. These books are leveled based on their needs. Some baskets don't have as many as others, I'm hoping to fill them all up, so they can pick new books each week.
