• TK All the Way!

  Wow! We are so excited and thankful for the new supplies and toys that we get to use in our classroom. My students were so happy to see all the choices that they had coming into the classroom. From the dollhouse to the finger painting station, to having crayons that fit their hands - our room was more than ready to welcome 4 year old learners!

  As the year continues, we will cycle through some of the activities that they have access to so that there is always something new. For example, we will use the orange cones to create an obstacle course outside as a choice area, and begin a painting area as well that will be open during free play time. This is in addition to several block playing areas, magnatiles, house play area, and craft/art area. Our students deserve the very best to be creative and imaginative learners and we have you to thank for making this a reality in our classroom. Thank you so much for your generous support!”

• Who's Ready for TK?

  Wow, what a year this has been! I have spent the majority of my teaching career in kindergarten, and this is the first year I've taught TK. I am having so much fun watching the students play and learn with each other with all the fantastic toys and supplies that this grant has provided for us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity!

  My students were so happy to play with each of the different activities as we introduced them. When a new toy or activity was introduced, their eyes lit up with excitement. Through an hour long play period each day, my students are practicing oral language, shared responsibility and important social skills like taking turns and using their words. This has given our classroom an increased amount of variety and the students are enjoying every bit of it.

• Books! Books! and More Books!

  There is truly nothing like a brand new book. Crisp pages, sturdy spine - it is one of life's simple joys to turn the pages of a new book. Thank you for granting my students the opportunity to have new books in our classroom library for them to enjoy whenever they want!

  Reading in our TK classroom is mostly enjoying the pictures in picture books, or retelling our favorite stories with friends. My students have enjoyed the addition of these fantastic books to our class library and especially again this year during the spring season. They huddle together in our book nook and enjoy telling each other what the pictures are, or the parts of the story they know. It is truly magical to watch 5 year olds enjoy books, turning the pages one by one and telling stories as they do.

  Many of these books have been enjoyed by all students in our classroom, but our Little Spot stories have really helped our students who are learning emotional regulation and social skills. The magic of the stories gets sprinkled around the classroom as students take these lessons to heart.

• Get It Together!

  My students love to discover and create, and this project helped us continue to do this in the classroom by giving us organization and extra materials. One of the items that we were able to purchase was a packet from Teachers Pay Teachers that gave my young engineers videos to watch and STEM projects to try. It was so much fun watching the students problem solve and find new ways to address the same problem.

• Creating Equity

  Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! We are so fortunate to have a community of supporters who believe in providing the best for our learning needs!

  My students were so excited when I showed them the materials and how we were going to use them in the classroom. These materials allowed me to create differentiated centers and activities to meet learners where they are. The variety of colored paper allowed me to color code my groups so that students knew which color they needed to go to for their work. It has been extremely successful and I'm so grateful for your support!

  Wow! I can't even begin to thank you for your generosity and for funding this project! My students are going to be so excited with the new furniture that will create a cozy reading area and easily accessible tools and toys for them to use. We will also be installing a sensory wall and a peg wall table that will be like a giant Light Brite! My students are curious, excited learners, and your gift will help them discover even more! • Magna Tiles For The Win!

  Wow! I wish you could have all been in the classroom for the unveiling of this amazing project! My students were overjoyed to have new and very fun Magnatiles to play with! We are so appreciative of your generosity and for giving to this project.

  One of the best things about these particular Magnatiles, is that they have brought students together who might not normally interact with one another. For example, I have two students who are new to the US and speak the same language. When they are playing with these with other students, however, they are learning and developing story lines and learning about the different animals that are part of these sets from my English speaking students. It's been so fun to watch them learn in a fun and non threatening environment!

  My students and I are so incredibly grateful for your generous donations to our classroom. Without donors like you, we wouldn't be able to have the supplies we need to be creative, out of the box thinkers and explorers in our classroom!

  My students love to learn through play and anything hands on. The different colors of paper have added to our already impressive assortment of colors and the students enjoy spending time making crafts - creating together and learning from each other. They also absolutely love the kinetic sand - besides having fun building, they are working their fine motor muscles!

  Throughout this year, we've spent a lot of extra time practicing socialization skills, learning to get along, cooperate, get ideas from each other and explore.
