• Black Shirts for Dance Performances

• Floor Chairs for Young Dancers

  We are so excited to have these additional materials to support our academic learning sessions in the dance classroom. We have an amazing open dance floor that is perfect for learning technical moves and rehearsing choreography. However, when it is time to watch our videos, watch our peers, or work on our computers & paper for more academic content, the dance floor can be a tough surface on our bodies. This set of chairs allows the dancers to have a more comfortable place to sit on the dance floor while also providing back support for our developing bodies. We are so thankful for your donations on this project.”

• Jazz Dance Shoes for Growing Feet

  Thank you for supporting our young dancers and their journey to become better, stronger technical performers. Dance does not require too many materials, but for this group of students it is wonderful to have items such as these shoes to look and feel like professionals both in the classroom and on the stage. Many of our students are able to find and purchase these types of shoes on their own. However, some families are in need of financial assistance. Having a set of dance shoes to share with students in need allows a more equitable experience for the dancers. Plus who doesn't love to wear brand new shoes?! We are so appreciative of your generosity and helping our students on a path to greatness.”

• Body Socks for Modern Dance and SEL Learning

  Funded Aug 1, 2024

  Thank you for providing the opportunity for the dancers to experience and move using these new body socks. Not only do these resources provide a tactile stimulus for those students who need it, but they are also used in various choreography pieces. Now that we have several, students can use them to learn and create their own choreography with the body socks. The students had so much fun with just unboxing the items and getting to explore how they move with them. I know they will enjoy the experience of getting to work with the materials in a more professional and structured way as well. Thank you for giving us these materials to expand our choreographic thinking skills.”

• Digital Technology for Dance

  Funded May 7, 2024

  Thank you for supporting our technology needs in our classroom. As an art form that is both visual and movement based, it helps all members of our classroom to have quality videos of our work for reference and review throughout the year. The students were excited to see the new technology devices we had which would not only make recording dances easier but more fun as well. The tripod will help to steady the recording device so that students do not have to worry about shaky or tired arms when recording group work. The monopod and selfie light also help to create higher quality videos so we can share our work at its absolute best. Thank you for making dance and its sharing more fun and enjoyable.”

• Leotards for Professional Performances

  Thank you for providing us with the ability to purchase another set of black leotards for our dance classroom. Many of these middle school students are trying dance for the first, and possibly last, time but deserve to try out the entire experience from practice to rehearsal to on stage with costumes. These leotards allow us to put on full costumes for our concerts.

  Not only do these black leotards in various sizes allow us to aide all different dancers and bodies to put on costumes, but also allow us to look and feel like a uniform, professional group of dancers. The black leotard is a staple for the dance world and your donations allow us to maintain this standard in our dance classroom.”

• Organized Dance Workout

  Funded Nov 29, 2022

  Thank you for your support of our classroom of dancers and their journey to become stronger, healthier adolescents. These materials help us organize our various workout equipment pieces and make it easier to access them during class time. With this ease of access, students are able to make their own choices about which equipment they want to use and easily clean up class in a short amount of time. It is so much fun to watch their excitement on conditioning days or during daily warm-up time, because they can use different pieces of equipment to vary their choices or create a personal challenge.”
