Having a reliable laptop at home will allow me to effectively teach all of the science standards to my students. I will be able to bring science to life with the help of Youtube videos and other online resources that I will use to virtually teach my students about various topics including plant and animal life, weather patterns, and pushes and pulls.
I am especially excited about the possibility of being able to engage students in hands-on experiments and investigations from the comfort of their own home. My students will be able to make daily observations of the life cycle of a plant, make a snow storm in a jar to learn how snow storms are formed, learn about physics through a Ramps & Matchbox Cars activity; all of which can be shared virtually with classmates.
A laptop will allow me to share lessons appropriate for the various learning needs of my students. It will also allow me to use the Screen Share feature to help my students learn the basics of technology.
I will be able to create a Bitmoji classroom that will serve as a place where my students can access hyper links to learning sites that will allow them to continue their independent learning at home. This is especially important during school closures.
