  • Creativity is Contagious, Pass it on

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

Thank you for your generous donation. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card has allowed me to purchase Famous Artists and Art History Units for my classroom. I am using the slides from the units to teach my students about famous artists and different art skills. Students are able to see art come to life and have conversations about different art pieces. We recently learned about Wassily Kandinsky. We created a tree collage with concentric circles. The kids had a blast layering different colored circles to create their spring trees.

When I told my students that we had the opportunity to learn about artists and create work inspired by those artists, they were thrilled and couldn't wait to get started. They asked me who we would be learning about and what types of art they would be making.

Our goal is to create and art portfolio with all of the artwork we are creating. We might also look into creating a little art museum for parents to view each student's work displayed online during Open House.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Minasian

  • Make Some Room!

    Funded Aug 22, 2015

Words can not express how grateful I am for your generous donation. The donation allowed us to purchase a backpack cart from Lakeshore Learning. When the large box arrived in our classroom, the students were curious to see what was inside. I sat them down on the rug and explained to them that they would no longer have to trip over backpacks that had fallen off of their chairs and onto the floor. I saw instant smiles. I told them that we now had a rolling backpack cart to neatly hang our backpacks on. The next day we put the cart together, trained the students how to roll it down our ramp, and let them hang their backpacks on the cart. No more backpacks on the floor! The room looks larger and neater thanks to your donation! We're so appreciative!”

  • A Listening Center!

    Funded Sep 19, 2014

Thank you so very much for your donations towards the classroom listening center. Having the books and cds for center time allows has allowed students to be a lot more independent when it comes to reading. Now those students who are having difficulty comprehending stories due to lack of fluency, can enjoy listening to the stories being read to them. They can respond to questions and work independently during center time. Students love when it's their turn to go to the center. Their always excited to see what book is next. Thank you again for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Minasian

My students are a diverse group of kids from many different backgrounds. Many languages are spoken in our classroom. This specific group of kids are very hands on, like me! They are enthusiastic about learning and love coming to school. Our school is located in a small neighborhood in California.
