Though my students are so happy to be back among friends at school after COVID-19 shut-downs, many are not happy to be confined to classroom desks trying to contain the endless energy that powers 12 and 13 year-olds. Children need to move to learn, and I try to offer them more seating options than the traditional school desk. Sadly, the students who continuously create garbage just for an excuse to walk across the room to throw it away have no other work station choice than their confining desks. A few years ago I bought 6 bean bag chairs to offer another seating choice, but those are limp and need to be refilled. I would also like to buy three standing desks with swinging footrests to give those wandering students a place to land and focus.
