Autism Needs Sensory Items and Art Supplies!
Funded Dec 3, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students absolutely loved the beads and the napkins are making life much neater. We used the beads to create our very own Native American artifacts. Every one loved making and wearing necklaces, bracelets, and head pieces. The hands on part of the activity is great for the students, and their creations were beautiful.
Due to budget cuts, sometimes the simplest tasks, such as cleaning up after a project, become extremely difficult. By providing napkins, each child is able to clean their own desk with a clean paper towels. Usually the teacher ends up wiping all the desks, often with a cloth towel or using the same paper towel on several desks.
Because of your thoughtful donation, the students experienced autonomy, created something beautiful, and had lots of fun in the process. We are very thankful.”
With gratitude,

Funded Jun 27, 2014Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students are so excited to have this technology. Some of my students use the ipad to write the words that they are not able to say. Today for example, one of my students typed in the word "cheese" to indicate that she wanted a cheese sandwich for lunch. I can not tell you what a breakthrough this was for her. How powerful that she can now make her wants and needs known. I always knew that this student was trying to communicate, and now she has a way to do so.
In a very short time, the ipad has proven to be a powerful tool. Some of my students use it as a reinforcement after completing their work. Some of the students use apps that reinforce academic skills including, reading, math, puzzles, and problem solving. Everyone enjoys working with the ipad.
Your support means so much to us, and your gift has made such a positive difference. We have only just started working with this tool during Summer school. I can't wait to see how much progress students will make throughout the school year. Again, thank you so much for caring.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Ricard
